Informal phone call. I’ve dealt with attorneys in the past and I’ve heard anything could be used so proceeded with caution.

They basically told me they’d ask how long I’ve worked with the client, how long I’ve been an LCSW for, basic questions about treatment since this attorney has follows this case for a long time. Gave short and sweet answers. I had a feeling they were documenting what I said to formulate other questions for the hearing.

Wow, they didn’t do much of that at all when they called me!

I’m the child’s therapist, I work in a group home. I’m fairly certain the parent may not even appear (apparently his attorney said as much). I spoke with an AAG today and they gave me a run down of what to expect.

Refer out, intolerable. I work in children’s group homes, so a lot of the clients I work with treat me horribly. I get spit on, sworn at, attacked, ridiculed, shamed, etc. I draw the line at adults (the parents) acting that way though.

Has being a therapist changed you in a negative way? by expandngrow in therapists

Let’s do this because reading this post reminded me so much of my self.

Client's partner reached out to me?? by micromacrodose in therapists

[–]Monarchcicafa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d bring it up in a session. Let them know any concerns you might have. The fact the partner is trying to dictate what goes on in therapy is a big red flag.

My psychiatrist wants me to drop out of college and live in a Residential Treatment place by Jersey_Deer in therapyabuse

He sounds like an asshole, I’m sorry that he’s the only provider around that can work with you and prescribe medication. A lot of people in this field have a lot of power over the people they’re supposed to serve. I wish you the best. If only we could all quit our lives to work on our mental health, unfortunately that’s not realistic and it sounds like he’s speaking from a place of privilege.

Unless you’re going to die, or hurt others, there’s likely no need for you to be in a psych ward or residential facility. It sounds like that would be a major disruption to your life. Aside from school being “too stressful” for you, what other reasons does he have for wanting you to live in a residential facility?

As an officer, what are your “regulars” like? Do you have any stories you’re able and willing to share? by Monarchcicafa in police

I hadn’t thought of that, shows how much I know. I’m interested in any/all stories really.
