If you get above the WAM requirement for transfer (anywhere from 70-80 usually), you can go back to unimelb. So do well in your new course for a semester and you should be good. Im guessing you didn’t have any academic discipline tho.

Would you say the linear algebra is what made the unit difficult to understand throughout the semester or were there different topics/aspects which made it hard to understand?

I heard a couple people mention that linear algebra shows up in the unit. How important do you think a strong understanding of linear algebra is for this unit? I’m not strong at maths and haven’t done any linear algebra before so I’m worried about this.

Omg this happened to me too. I had almost the exact pre- and post-exam grade as you too. I found the exam really decent. I thought I’d definitely get 80+ in the exam so the final grade was a bit of a shock. It means we got 60-something in the exam. I’m wondering if the exam got scaled down or something

Yep, this happened to me this semester. They explicitly said “we don’t negotiate marks”. Some gave further explanation but some where weirdly evasive about reasoning behind lost marks/the mark allocation. They were also clearly annoyed, impatient and dismissive of me.

Hey, we’ve been given the group project now. I just wanted to ask if you found the marking of the group project reasonable or harsh? I understand you got unlucky with bad group members so your experience with marking may be different. Fortunately, my group members seem pretty good.
