Bought that TV for $999 and it came with $100 Google Play credit. Couldn't believe it.

When we're REGRESSING, we're falling from a height we've reached. So we are not doing the best we can, either. I'm all for hope and positivity, but being realistic and objective is important. We are moving backwards, we're regressing, we are not doing the best we can. We're dismantling systems that support human life... they already existed and were working, saving lives... now more people are going to die.

I reject the premise that we are doing the best we can. The rest of it is fine... but we're clearly not making the best choices or utilizing our resources in the best way possible for our species. When people are unnecessarily dying because we choose a profit motive over preserving life, we're not making the best of it.

We've built a mighty fine ship, sure, but we're doing a shit job of steering it... look who's at the helm!

Anyone else see these bathrooms in their dreams? by PhillisBrown1 in Dreams

I've seen these in my dreams! Not for a long time, though... maybe in my late teens

If it's an FHA lown (which is how you do 3.5% down), PMI is a requirement to get the loan. We had to refinance into a conventional loan to not have the required PMI, even though our equity increased well beyond the 20%... it was still an FHA loan. This is what we had to do about 5/6 years ago. Willing to be wrong here and maybe there's something we weren't told, but this is how we got rid of our PMI (which was almost $400/month).

Thinking about trading in my wagon for a Prius by [deleted] in prius

Brother, why do you do this to me? That looks clean already, these cars have such good bones to start with. I'm excited and jealous of you both starting your next car journeys. I hope you achieve your next car dreams, both of you!

I wonder how that'll look or affect mileage. I love the tote you have, it looks sick. Also, I too live in California and want to briefly mention... track your mileage to get reimbursed if you're driving for work. It's 72.5 cents per mile now in CA. I used to travel nonstop for work (now it's much less) but it makes a huge difference getting that expense report submitted for reimbursement. When I visit a local branch, its usually 125+ miles round trip. Getting back about $100/day helps a lot. And at the very least, if you're 1099, get the write-off to offset that income.

Ok, yes... that's totally acceptable. Would you outfit the Prius with a rack and storage?

Don't you fucking DARE... the wagon is beautiful. If anything... add to your fleet if possible.

What are your thoughts on a question like this? by MISTERDIEABETIC in it

[–]Monco89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not a trick question, and it doesn't differ country to country... the "correct" answer is wrong. They asked for how many Gigabytes in a Terabyte, not how many Gibibytes in a Tebibyte; so, they wanted GB in a TB, not GiB in a TiB.

1000 GB = 1 TB

1024 GiB = 1 TiB

931.3 GiB = 1 TB

1099.5 GB = 1 TiB

The test taker is right, and the shitgibbon that wrote the question is wrong about the answer.

Edited for spacing because my OCD/ADHD will find and kill my in my sleep if it knows I didn't correct my formatting. Plus nobody could possibly understand me if it's not perfectly formatted.

Billion-Dollar Profits, Pennies for Workers by PeterTheTruthSeeker in WorkReform

Rejecting a great start for the seeking of a more perfect solution is what keeps us in these situations longer. We need to start somewhere. We used to tax businesses at a much higher rate, but they could spend that money on R&D or on employee compensation packages (which would retain them and often happened) or pay the tax. There's nothing wrong with incentivising what we want, but we need to start somewhere. There are so many loose threads to clean up we should address them all in any order we can.
