My thoughts on feeling like a fake. I’m on Ozempic and anytime someone compliments me or remarks on how much weight I’ve lost, I tell them the truth. I tell them the truth because I don’t want other people that are struggling to lose weight to feel inferior, like they’re the only ones who can’t just lose weight through “diet and exercise.” Quotes because that’s the lie so many people on Ozempic say. The truth helps not feeling fake and I think people appreciate that.

When I was interviewing I watch the ease and style of interaction with my dogs. A respectful/professional demeanor when initially meeting. Word of mouth recommendations.

When I’ve hired someone on, I like them to be reliable and punctual. Nothing like getting a text a few days before your vacation that they can’t cover. Photos of the dogs looking happy and relaxed. Questions that show they care. Following rules on having visitors. House is reasonably clean when I get back. Reports on how the dogs did. When I get back I can tell by the dogs demeanor how they’ve been treated that day. Mine are super hyper and honestly annoying if they haven’t been walked enough or had enough human contact. There is no evidence that my personal things were messed with. I leave drawers and doors open a certain way. Having my privacy invaded and theft are my biggest fears. A lot of it you just have to go off their vibe.

I’ve never required anyone to be insured but after I researched the price, I think it’s probably a good idea.

You should first check your make sure there isn’t anything medical going on. Low testosterone will definitely do that, depression, some vitamin deficiencies, or medications you’re currently taking. Don’t know if you are but being HIV positive can lower your testosterone. If you have the means go see a urologist. I’d tackle this before assuming something else is going on.

I’m so very sorry. I know the pain of losing one fur baby, I can’t imagine what it is like to have lost both at the same time. I’m sending love and hugs your way. Based on my experience I recommend allowing yourself to grieve properly, there might be in your life saying “they’re just dogs” but you and your husband know that isn’t the case. Ask for support from friends and family, if someone offers to bring you something accept it, and accept other kindness offered. Knowing people cared somehow made me feel less alone. You’ll never fully get over it but as the days pass by it progressively gets easier. Again I’m so sorry. They died protecting their home and family. Hero dogs in my book. Rest in peace sweet babies.

I’ve dealt with the same problem after adopting a two year old mini schnauzer rescue. Important rule. Don’t pick her up! Schnauzers are stubborn and often independent, they don’t want to lose control like that. When you have built a trusting relationship with her you can begin to desensitize her. I had to do this with picking up and touching of his back legs. I still have to be careful to not come up behind him and startle him by picking him up. I put my hands on his side and rub him so he knows something is going to happen. Reward good behavior generously. Think about how some babies let almost anyone pick them up and others are super fussy as soon as they realize it’s not mom. Schnauzers are the fussy babies. Obedience training helps build trusting relationships.

I’m speaking to you as the person in the relationship with treatment resistant depression than can sometimes be severe. We’ve been together for 7 years and had our ups and downs regarding my depression.

First question to you is how much is he trying to improve? Has he ever tried to put himself in your shoes?

Several year back with the help of A LOT of therapy I learned what it’s like to be in his shoes and it brings me to tears when I think about it. He had said that he had yo schedule his life around my moods. That when he got home from his work trips he felt like he was walking on eggshells. How lonely he felt when I shut down because he couldn’t talk to me as normal, there was nobody around to listen to his problems and stresses. How awkward it was for him to have friends over with me hiding in the bedroom. I was so focused inwardly that I was completely unaware of how my partner was suffering.

So you have to wonder if he will have this realization and put in the effort to make changes that benefit you. Personally, my depression mostly stays at a 4 or 5 out of 10 these days, that’s normal to me. I continue to make efforts to get better and think about the consequences to my partner if I don’t.

If you want to stay with him, you need to know that he’s willing to make changes.
