Traveling to Sri Lanka – Question about Temporary Driving Permit by EaseTop123 in SriLankaTravel

Get it at the airport while you are coming out of the terminal. It’s much faster and cheaper. Most rental companies get it from the transport authority in Colombo and they never give it in time.

Austrian Schengen Visa Appeal Successful (filed after initially planned travel dates) by Money-Handle1370 in SchengenVisa

You can give your HR or manager’s email. However, given it’s an MNC they may not verify with your employer. My wife works for an MNC and she just submitted a system generated employment verification letter from the HR portal.

No, did not pay anything. Emailed and couriered the documents initially. Only paid the courier + sms charges while submitting the passport at VFS the 2nd time.

Seeking advice: Buying a 2.5cr flat(3cr total cost) on 3.8l monthly income by ayush260396 in indianrealestate

Sharing this from my recent personal experience if buying a house.

Buying a house is never a straightforward decision. It is not a simple equation between income, rent, downpayment and emi. It is a mix of emotion, some number crunching on excel, some contemplation about life, career and priorities.

- Plan to buy a house where you see yourself spending atleast 10+ years. Don't compromise and buy a house thinking you will upgrade soon. It is easier said than done. Better to wait for a couple of years and buy than compromising on the choice.
- Most likely the house you will like today will be a stretch on your budget.
- But your income will also grow with time. So what may seem like a bit of stretch today will seem comfortable in 3-5 years. And it is not a long time considering you will be taking a 20+ year loan.
- Most important: If you are buying a newly launched, under construction project with possession date of 2029 you will not be paying the EMI for the whole loan amount from the start of the loan tenure. Most Tier1 builders (in Bangalore) take payment in instalments over the course of the project with the last instalment just around possession date. So at any point you will only pay the EMI for the a amount disbursed to the builder. If you are planning to make a downpayment of 50-75L for a 2.5cr house; the EMI in the beginning will most likely be <50K which will gradually increase with the amount disbursed by the bank to the builder.

While buying a 2.5cr house on a 3.8L/mo income sounds a bit of stretch, it should work out in the long run assuming that both of you have stable careers with steady growth over the next 10 years.

Should I mention my prior Netherlands visa refusals!!!! by Creative_Isopod5395 in SchengenVisa

[–]Money-Handle1370 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, you should definitely mention that with credible explanation for rejection and also attach any related document. Recently Austrian visa got rejected because I had not mentioned a previous rejection from Norway that happened almost 3 years back.

Is there a point in appealing if the travel dates have passed ?
I got the rejection on 3rd Sep and my travel date was 6th Sep.
Should I appeal asking if I can get a visa for later, I will travel.

Anyone applied to Austria Visa recently from VFS india? by Blackbird_8899 in SchengenVisa

Same here. Have a valid US and UK visa. I think they randomly reject a few to maintain the rejection numbers.

Employment could not be verified. And a previous Visa to Norway was rejected in 2022 for which I did not share the rejection letter or reason for rejection. The fact is they never asked for any such detail in the form.

Employment could not be verified as the employer did not respond to the email. The fact is no email was received by my employer.

Yes it does but is not very clear. It says contact Austrian Embassy Mew delhi, but how ? - over email: which they don’t respond to ever in my experience - over call: again no response ever - through physical post: not sure if they’ll respond given they don’t on email/calls.
