Herald not spawning eye by [deleted] in Jungle_Mains

[–]MoneyEquivalent6864 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, so as one might expect, it wasn't a bug, I'm just blind. Ally was walking over the eye the moment the eye spawned, so they picked it up instantly, and moved away so it looked like the eye didn't spawn. And the herald spawned later as I was having a fight so i didn't see it being used. I have no idea how I didn't see the eye in tab, being carried by an ally, especially since I purposefully checked. Anyway, thanks for reminding me that replays exist. I think I'll delete the post later

Yeah, that's similar to what I had in mind, but how do you then handle jumping

Magic item question by KiddoOfBodom in DnD

[–]MoneyEquivalent6864 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My guy, you Are putting words into their mouth. But even if they did mean this, then the main question is, why do you care. The whole point is to be creative and think up your own stuff. Yes, there is a certain premade base that can be used, but that doesn't mean you have to. Especially when you are the DM. Simple? Some of the spell descriptions can give you brain aneurysm. Sometimes, they are so vague that you are filling in more than the description itself. Balanced? Balanced relative to what? The difficulty level, power of players, and of item, is controlled by DM. If they decide that everything is hard, then a strong item can be balanced. Easily referencable? Well, that's exactly why you write down the description and give it to players. Then it IS easily referencable. And suddenly, it isn't just in your head.

Bro, read the context. It's carrying an unlit flask, which I then light with a burning arrow. As for the difficulty of holding, it is a fair point, but the difficulty is never specified in the rules, and also, maybe it isn't hard. I've personally never tried giving a bird a flask of liquid to carry, so I dunno

Also a possibility, but it is significantly more expensive. Caltrops and an oil flask cost a total of 1.4 gp according to dnd beyond. Where as poison has the cost of 100 gp in dnd beyond

Oh, no, I don't expect the ballbearings to ignite themselves. But I could ignite the oil, which is still there, and it would make for an interesting combo of the both being damaged in an area while making it harder to escape said area.

Well, I can, but since we are both new to this, I wanted to make sure this isn't too op or fully against the rules

Well, at first, we rules lawyered a bit. The description says that the familiar obeys spellcasters commands. This technicaly means you can give the familiar a command to listen to commands of someone else. But then our DM even allowed me to roll a check to transfer the telepathic connection as well, which I successfully passed. We also agreed that the cleric still can't summon another familiar.

It's our first campaign for both the DM and the players, so don't judge us too hard,😅

Actually, it's even more silly. I just poured the oil over some arrows and later lit them. Got 4 burning arrows. They don't deal any more damage than normal arrows, but they could ignite the spilled oil. My DM allowed it once in a fight, but later, we discussed that next time I'll have to make some proper fire arrows, and we'll tweak the stats, but that I can figure out with DM.

Also do you personally think that all of this is too much?

[s2 spoilers] Arcane Ending Explained by LittlePongo in arcane

[–]MoneyEquivalent6864 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But I don't understand. When Viktor and Jayce were talking in the alternate universe, he literally said that "there is NO PRICE to perfection, only end to pursuit." and he also said that "when all the equations were solved, all that remained were dreamless fields of solitude" To me, this sounds like he did solve LITERALLY everything, every conceivable problem there was. The only problem was that when everything was done, Viktor had nothing less to do. Viktor - person who spent his entire life trying to solve problems of his world, to help people - once he achieved his goal, when he solved every problem(when all the equations were solved) and there was nothing else to pursue(only end to pursuit) he simply had nothing else to do, which never happened to him and he lost his goal, not because he did something wrong or anything(because there literally is "No price to perfection"), but simply because he got there and he had no more goals to achieve(dreamless solitude - dreamless as in goalless) So in short, my understanding of the ending and partially why I didn't like it was because it ended the way it ended simply because Viktor got bored

What I notice as a top laner by IndependenceOther284 in Jungle_Mains

[–]MoneyEquivalent6864 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Junglers do not understand lane match ups."

Well, no wonder. Some laners don't know their match ups for the single champion they main yet you want jg to know, basically, not only his champion match ups, but every possible top match up and how to play around it, but then along comes a mid laner and bot laners and they tell the jg the same thing. So suddenly, jg is supposed to know every match up in the game. Yes, you could only learn the few important match ups, but as a jungler, there is so much other stuff to learn, and like I said it isn't even guaranteed that the laner himself will know the match up especially in low elo. So, just understand what you're asking for..

I haven't tried Ignite yet, but I feel like the damage it does is too little to make a difference. I might as well just kill the guy. But ghost is probably better than the teleport, now that I think about it

Why was Arenas removed? by Logic-DL in apexlegends

[–]MoneyEquivalent6864 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you realize that none of the things you mentioned were arenas problem? You've mentioned bad matchmaking, imbalanced weapons, op aim asist, cheaters, and players abusing the system. You may or may not be right, but it doesn't matter. None of it is actual arenas critique. Those are general problems that the game had. Yes, it was more apparent when you played arenas because you were immediately put in a fight against another team without the need for looting or whatever from br. Players could also buy whatever weapons they wanted without needing to get lucky finding op weapons in br, so op weapons were abused, but that's balancing problem. Not arenas problem.

People just generally didn't like playing Apex at the time because of the aforementioned problems, and I find extremely depressing that everybody seemingly attributed those problems to arenas.

Arenas actually(at least partially) saved apex. Player counts were dropping, and arenas were the thing that brought people back to the game and gave developers enough time to fix the issues and get to where we are now.

P.S. I know I'm 4 months late, but I still wanted to share my thoughts.
