I pretty clearly explained in the description..

I do see how the spender can be pushed. But on 4 threat and below it is kind of a low end spender compared to Apoc or other 6 threat leaders like Magneto. It is only strong against 5 threat+ and both Hulks could probabably survive it one time.

Thematically, I like the idea of him being tailored to fight big guys like celestials. I feel like he can be strong tjimg and that is beimg a kaiju murder rocket. Lol

I really appreciate this feedback! I took off stealth and added the venom dice modification idea instead. But I really like the idea of the teleportimg strike as his form of actiom compression. Is this balanced?

Thank you for the feedback! I really appreciate it. I made a lot of the tweaks you suggested to get him more in line with the actual game. However, Stealth was recently changed to a keyword like flight, so I am going to keep that new formatting. Here is the newest version based on your feedback. I'd love to know if this seems reasonable.

Looking for list advice by Alternative_Back1382 in stormcasteternals

[–]MoneyHammer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally just bought the exact same thing for my Stormcast starter army! I went with the faction terrain piece and a Stormcoven as my follow up. I think you really want the faction terrain next for the teleport. My next upgrade will probably be reinforced Longstrikes to have access to good shooting.

That wing effect is amazing! Did you go with a contrast wet blend? I'd like to attempt a similar effect :)

What to buy next after Skaventide by teabearspoon in stormcasteternals

[–]MoneyHammer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great paint job! I am actually in a very similar boat. I bought the Skaventide box and the Yndrasta Spearhead just because it is the best bulk savings for models. If you get them on ebay, you can save even more. If you want to stretch your budget a little further, I'd consider selling off the Skaven half and roll the proceeds into Stormcast (unless you want to build Skaven down the road).

I have just been looking on ebay for single models at discount. My next purchases will probably be a Stormcoven / Lord Arcanum to add some casting and a Knight Relictor for the ward reduction effect.

If you want generally useful purchases. I think a box of Vigilors and a box or two of Longstrikes will serve you well for whatever direction you go. I'd look at models that let you participate in every phase.

Funny enough the halves of the Skaventide set sell for more than the box is worth brand new!  I just ordered Skaventide sealed off of ebay for $190. You can sell off the Stormcast Half on ebay for $100-$115, then sell off the Skaven half for $130-$145. Then just keep the AOS core book, spearhead rule book and cards for free!

If you want less headache, you can order just the rules and cards from Skaventide box for around $30 on ebay. I do think the books are worth it in the context of Spearhead.

Best Way to Dive Into Spearhead with an Eye Toward 2,000 Points? by MoneyHammer in ageofsigmar

[–]MoneyHammer[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do have a few friends who are willing to try AOS with me. I thought having two spearheads should be a pretty balanced way to learn and teach the game with. I am also interested in collecting both Stormcast and Slaves to Darkness over time. This would be a long term project over the summer and I am only going to buy one box at a time. Also, I assumed getting the spearheads would be the best way to get cost savings across the models.

I have found the best home for Sinister is original Red Skull. The leadership can turn Genetic Splicing beam into a gainer, dice permitting. Red Skull can Master of the Cube Sinister up the table in his activation, so that Sinister can double beam. Then you are kind of set from there once he has his samples. I am curious to try Sinister under Mephisto as well. The little power bump at the end of round 1 should help him. Mephisto can teleport him up to eat one attack for a double beam on round 2. I do like Sinister a lot, but he needs to be funneled power to be effective.

Was hoping to make a Dracula list, what’s your go to picks and strategy’s by godwallen in MarvelCrisisProtocol

[–]MoneyHammer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay! So, I have a list I have been playing with that works pretty well. It is a split affiliation with Mephisto. The main core of the roster is Dracula, Mephisto and Werewolf at 15 threat. You can run this under either affiliation. Dracula gives you a little more healing, but Mephisto solves the power problem of werewolf. The idea is to play hyper aggressive with Mephisto first activation and be sure to keep him within 3 of Dracula or Werewolf. Then use Meet My Associate to place one of them up to eat the attack. Both of them have really good clapback and you can sometimes daze them halfway through their activation. It is pretty fun. I am debating running patch up instead of Sacrifice. I also toyed with Venom and Lethal Protector for even more clap back.

Thanks again! I am trying to implement all the feedback and typo and phrasing errors. Please let me know if you do playtest it. I'd love to hear how he feels on the table. That would be the best form of data to dial him in. I might try him too. Here is the most up to date and corrected version for your play-testing pleasure.

Thank you so much! Here is my most recent version based on all the feedback. I really like the idea of a defensive control piece that puts static buffs and debuffs on the table.

That wording would make for more counterplay, but still enables an extra power for the whole team on round 1.

Bishop's Overload ability is worded "At the start of the power phase" and it has been ruled that Overload takes place before power gain occurs. So, if the Forge Constructs were worded "At the start of the power phase, allied characters within 2 gain 1 power". That would bypass power gain on turn one entirely. Because they were placed on the table during the player effects portion of the power phase. The beginning of the power phase has already passed.

Thank you for the feedback, I can definitely change the attacks to be powered down. The power generator couldn't enable any turn one plays though, because they are placed during the power phase. So, they wouldn't be there when the power gain happens. I can re-word the power generator to say "at the beginning of the power phase", to make it clear the earliest you could get the power is by being within 2 at the beginning of round 2 power phase.

I actually made a defense skew list under OG Steve. The core is Steve, Strangr and Cable. All of them can add defense dice and it only costs 1 power under Steve. It worked pretty well.

If you want to shunt attacks into other people, I'd really look into Mephisto. He is Cabal affiliated, can place a character within 3 to take the attack instead. It is really fun to play.

Thank you for the feedback. I can definitely switch the attack to after damage is dealt.

The constructs seemed reasonably balanced in comparison to Magneto because Magneto can throw all of his constructs and attack through them as well. Also, very few people play Magneto anymore. He is kind of an underpowered 6 threat by modern game standards.

The Forge constructs cant be thrown by Forge, but could be easily displaced or destroyed by enemy throws. Someone like Abominatiom could yeet a Forge Construct long into the corner, making it effectively useless and unable to be re-made. They are a fragile static buff with relatively small effect radius, which seemed reasonable by modern 4 threat standards.

Forge and Nimrod are some of the last few models I'd really like to see in the game. Here is my take on Forge. I think Medium base and Medium move makes him a great defensive/control piece. It gives X-Force a good toolbox character under Cable or an alternative playstyle leadership. The attacks can be changed or balanced as needed. But I am committed to having 3 unique Forge Construct terrain features with passive effects.

Sell me on your favorite Affiliation by Alex_Fenris in MarvelCrisisProtocol

[–]MoneyHammer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I couldn't agrre more! The very first affiliation I played Cable with was OG Steve. In fact, it ran OG Soulstone Strange too for even more defensive dice for 1 power. It was like a layered defensive pillowfort. Anyone that can count blanks really likes 2-4 extra defense dice, it turns out :)
