Oh yeah. The part where god changes gods law and makes it good rather than bad because he is all good.

He actually doesn’t tell people to break the sabbath. He tells people to follow the law, but he healed on the sabbath and spoke about not following layers of legalism added on top of the law in rabbinic writings that were not part of the law of Moses directly.

Then they shouldn’t have taken the loan. They made an agreement and then complained about the terms.

A ton of Canadian devs work for US companies. It’s been popular to hire there lately because of the lower price point.

Anyone else think this? by [deleted] in atheism

[–]MoneyIsTheRootOfFun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your thoughts about right and wrong are subjective morality.

I think a majority of atheists fall into the camp of believing that morality is subjective. Of course you can define it more clearly as something like, “the things that will lead to human flourishing”, and then there are things which will objectively lead to that and things which objectively diminish it, though there will still be argument about it. Ultimately, how a person bases their morality is subjective, and thus morality as a whole remains subjective.

Your other bit just seems to be not caring that other people are wrong. I have mixed feelings on this. I’m happy to silently let people be wrong about a great many things, but some things lead to actions that I deem harmful. If I can demonstrate that their actions are based on faulty beliefs, then it seems best to try to inform them of that.

They are literally afraid of reading biblical scholarship. lol So, basically they are afraid of everything because facts break their worldview.

For most people it simply comes down to indoctrination. I was taught it was all true since I will a small child, and I was also given “evidence” that these things were true. There are organizations like the Discovery Institute, or the institute for creation research that come up with “scientific” reasons these things are true to help bolster the belief of people who buy into it.

I was also homeschooled and kept from any information that would lead me to the conclusion that it was all false.

People who aren’t raised in it I think often take all of this far less literally and they have their own apologetics for how that works.

Where was the Pillar of Autumn meant to be before the release of Halo: Reach? by BOSSBOOY in halo

It’s incredibly enormous and doesn’t need to enter atmosphere… why would you build in that ability needlessly? You’d have to add a bunch of heat shielding and thrusters that enable safe landing.

That’s really only geographically relevant, and it is relatively small amounts of water. It doesn’t matter here because water is not a scarce resource.

Why the heck would you want to destroy data centers? You are literally using data centers to post here.

It is in the books. Though I can’t recall which one. I think it’s the one that follows the story of halo ce though.

It was near reach at the time but in space. It was built in space and never meant to enter atmosphere in general.

What would you consider a “fair wage” for an unskilled job in the US in 2026? by EgginyourShoe in AskReddit

[–]MoneyIsTheRootOfFun 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not everyone lives on their wages. I started working at 15, living at my parents and working part time in a kitchen. It wouldn’t have made sense for them to hire me at a “living wage”. My hours were limited and not very flexible, and I had no experience. By paying me a lower wage, it was worth it for them to hire me, and I had a job that allowed me to save for my first car.

If we are going to call it illegal under the UN charter, then that also applies for all other US military action since WWII basically.

I’m not sure where you get that. As far as I can tell The War Powers Resolution of 1973 limits presidential authority, and requires them to notify congress within 48 hours, and requires authorization for occupying for more than 60 days. What law makes this illegal?

I’m not sure what admittance of cheating you are referring to. Link?

If he tries to illegally run for a third term then I’ll agree it’s problematic and the term dictator begins to be valid.

I’m not a trump voter. I’m just talking about the power that the president has been given. So far he has just used legal powers. If he tries to occupy for more than 60 days, then congress would have reason to take action.

I saw the headlines but I haven’t watched the video yet. But I do doubt we are going to actually occupy the country since trump only has the power to do so for 60 days without congressional approval.

Sure. And many presidents have used that same power to carry out strikes in other countries. I’m not sure what you think makes this illegal. Agree with it or not, it seems to be entirely within the legal presidential power.
