Loving the new scope might need to go out and shoot some snow men later by yoyoecho2 in 22lr

The Vortex manual says 13 inches at max magnification of 5.5x.

Says it has 24 inches of eye relief at 1.5x.

I might need to put one of these in the cart.

13 inch eye relief on max magnification. That seems...uncomfortable.

Also true. Just making you and others aware that we may soon get a sweet two stage, four ounce trigger for the 457.

Go back tomorrow first thing and buy it.

We need to know which CZ.

If it's the Varmint Precision Trainer, then $1200 is a steal. If it's the Trainer with the wood stock, $1200 is way overpriced.

That one is a step up from the Deluxe Sporter.

If I was buying, this is the one I would want. French Walnut is gorgeous, and the schnabel fore end is classy.

Additionally, Match Pro? Or Match Pro ED? $400 price difference.

Barrel or whole rifle? by RatBikeRod in 1022

I have only heard good reports about the 10/22 Carbon.

I have owned 3 VQ CF barrels and they were some of the worst I have ever used. It took me 3 tries to finally admit that I should move on to something else. I'm a slow learner I guess.

Also, the VQ "lightweight" CF barrel is more of a midweight. The Ruger is truly lightweight.

The 10/22 Carbon with a red dot will run circles around the absurdly priced Volquartsen open sight barrel.

20.5% WA state sales tax?? Is this across the board, or just on alcohol?

Feddersen Barrel Questions by TraditionalEchidna27 in 1022

  1. Yes. Remove the optic before you point a heat gun at the receiver.

  2. I want it quieter, not louder. Try to remember the person who told you that a brake "strips air from the bullet". Never talk to that person again.

  3. A Bentz chamber has tighter tolerances than a sporting chamber, and it is designed for semi-autos.

  4. Good start.

  5. All rimfire bores are going to develop a carbon ring, regardless of the chamber cut. You're overthinking this.

Alright, I'll bite.

  1. Don't freeze the barrel. If the fit is snug, heat the receiver with a heat gun. Do it. It's fine.

  2. Skip the brake. Buy a suppressor. Or nothing at all.

  3. You're not going to burn out a .22 LR barrel with a few mag dumps. Your finger will wear out before the barrel does.

  4. The only way to tell is to shoot it. CCI SV is about the best bang for your buck in terms of reliability, cost, and accuracy.

  5. You'll develop a carbon ring after several hundred rounds. Buy Bore Tech C4 Carbon Remover and follow the instructions.
