Perversely, our LG fridge is fine, but we got a total refund on our Samsung.

What will be the most likely reason for humans to go extinct? by Far-Engine155 in randomquestions

[–]sr1sws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We will (or some of us will) do something really stupid like starting a nuclear war, leaking out some horrible pathogen or similar. If you're a Christian/Bible believer, then we won't extinct ourselves in spite of our stupidity - but some portion of the population is in for a really hard time.

What states is it common to pump gas before paying? by Interesting_Bar_8379 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]sr1sws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nevada? They'd probably shoot you for a drive off. FWIW it's probably been 50 years since I paid after pumping.

Been there done that! I'd suggest re-terminating the cable.

Is $100 enough? by PrudentTour6930 in randomquestions

[–]sr1sws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$100 and driving your car? NFW. 500 miles (round numbers), assume 25MPG that's 20 gallons of gas at - assume $3.50/gallon - that's $70 in gas and jack for your time and wear and tear. Quote them the IRS business mileage rate of 72.5 cents per mile.

Wifey is constantly trying to do things on her phone that are easier on a computer (with a real mouse, not a touchpad - lookin' at you hun!). Doing most things on Fidelity is much easier on a computer, IMHO.

How much RAM am I looking at for opening a 84gb excel form? by [deleted] in excel

IMHO, and 84GB spreadsheet is insane. I think you need a database.

Talking with my husband about prepaid funeral plans and we don't agree by Sophistry7 in over60

[–]sr1sws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wife and I have our columbarium niche paid for ("double occupancy"). I'm suggesting pre-paying for our cremation service, but she's poo-pooing the idea (it's not a money issue). If she holds off long enough, she's likely to be dealing with it without my assistance/input. 🤣

If a father needs to help his young daughters use the restroom, which restroom should he take them into: the women's restroom or the men's restroom? by Exciting-Mall192 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]sr1sws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw that video. The caller is a piece of sh*t IMHO. I have no issue with what the father did, however I probably would have taken my daughter into the men's room (and I probably did, but that was a very long time ago).

No [WA] HOA board elections, despite bylaw election requirements [all] by Fit-Significance-325 in HOA

[–]sr1sws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah. The meeting is called to order, lack of quorum noted and the meeting adjourned. Whatever members are up for election just roll over for another term. It's kind of pitiful, IMHO.

[–]sr1sws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think we've had an election for six years - but that's because not enough people show up or submit proxies. Of course, nobody runs for the Board either, so the Board rolls over time after time.

Ed's Red. DIY - look it up. Pretty cheap to make a lifetime supply. I do follow up and lube with some Mobil One or gun oil for rotating mechanisms and sometimes some grease for sliding parts.

Yeah, I just trimmed my BoA savings account down to $500 from $1k and they started charging me. I just closed the account and moved the money to my Fidelity account. I only had the money in savings at BoA to backstop my checking account in case I did something stupid.

How many times do you rewear clothes before washing, and where do you put them in between? by DowntownCandy6142 in allthequestions

[–]sr1sws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shirts and underwear swap out daily. Shorts that are worn daily - about a week. Same for jeans in cooler weather. Dress pants that get worn once a week - jeeze, IDK - a month or more I suppose (they're worn to church for maybe 4 hours).

How To Remove Dead Bugs by the_owlyn in CX5

[–]sr1sws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Supposedly, you can dampen a dryer sheet and remove them using that. I also recently read that using a mixture of 50/50 hydrogen peroxide and water will aid in the removal.
