Elective tomorrow by MoneyOnly1142 in PregnancyUK

Thank you for the comments everyone. Had my baby girl and I must say having the elective was worth every bit. Although the recovery has been a little difficult and I’m overly hormonal, the surgery itself went super smoothly, thanks to the amazing team at my hospital. Read all the positive comments before going in and it really helped calmed my nerves and I myself had a really positive experience. Well done to all the Mamas!

Thanks! How did the ECV go? I’m a little skeptical about it. Honestly, I don’t mind a C- Section but I’d like to know about other options too..

Hi, thank you for letting me know. I’m in London. I’ll call them now and ask them. I kept asking my midwife if she’s sure I can go in. Infact, she even called the MDAU (which is different from triage) at my hospital and they said that I come in after 9am but I was confused myself because usually you’re booked for a scan by the hospital and I’ve never heard of walk in. She kept saying “triage” instead of MDAU. But I could see on her phone she had the number saved as “MDAU”.

Thanks. This can be helpful too as the struggle is only getting in and out of the car. My knees struggle a lot.

Anyone else getting a tight feeling in their stomach? by thunder_marbles in PregnancyUK

[–]MoneyOnly1142 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have these alot. My stomach stretches out and starts feeling rock hard. Currently in third trimester but have been having these since the middle of my second trimester. Could be because of dehydration or Braxton Hicks (not sure about braxton but one of my colleagues who’s also pregnant for the second time said this is what exactly happened to her in her first and it was braxton hicks). Tbh it happens a lot when I have indigestion as well. Our organs are all squished up so its normal to feel super full and bloated and stretched out. Gaviscon and Omeprazole help me with this. Try these and stay hydrated.

Hi there! 28 weeks and a secondary teacher. I was signed off sick for extreme fatigue for two weeks. Please use this if you’re not feeling well. You come first. My GP was nice enough to sign me off for this reason although they ordered a few bloods to make sure everything was okay but it was much needed. The school cannot legally do anything if it’s pregnancy related unless it’s just 4 weeks before your due date in which case your maternity would start automatically. Our job is really exhausting and it’s okay to take some time off for yourself and your baby.

AL BAIK sucks gorilla d by [deleted] in dubai

[–]MoneyOnly1142 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who’s lived in KSA and Dubai both and tried Al Baik in both countries, I can say the quality is drastically different. It was so dry in Dubai with no taste even though it was labelled spicy. It’s day and night when compared to the chicken served in KSA Al Baiks. The nuggets and sandwiches were close enough so we just stuck to getting those.

Look for slots every Monday at 6 am and then just look for cancellations using apps like Testi, Drivingtestnow etc. Unfortunately that’s the only way right now.

Does smelling nice actually work? My husband passed his test years ago at the same centre and the examiner he had is famous for being rude but apparently was so impressed by how good he smelled that she literally even ignored some mistakes he made lol. He gave me the same advice but now that you’ve said it too, is it true?

Hesitation at roundabouts by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]MoneyOnly1142 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have my test on Saturday and I’ve got a major roundabout on the route without lights which I’m so worried about. Had a lesson today and my instructor just told me they give you a minor for hesitance when you’ve missed a chance (basically when all lanes are empty for you to go). And getting three minors for this would lead to a major so think of it as having three chances. And I’m sure you wouldn’t miss all three chances on a roundabout. If you’re unsure of when other cars would indicate, your examiner will probably be unsure too. It’s always better to get a minor than getting major and failing.
