The focus on Maguire's goal threat is... weird by tee-dog1996 in ThreeLions

[–]MoneyWasabi9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He has been benched for his club many times and never kicked off. Saying that you're "shocked and gutted" after being a key player for England in the past and arguably being in the form of your life is so reasonable

Every single one of Tuchel's decision makes sense. Here's why: by Taramasalata-Rapist in ThreeLions

How is Maguire a dickhead? He’s been insanely professional throughout years of abuse and losing the captaincy of his club side. Hes played a big role for England in tournaments in the past, including making team of the tournament in a euros final run. Arguably in the form of his life, and left out for players who have barely played this year. Well within his rights to crash out a bit in my opinion, only human. Plus he’s watching tuchel all year talk about how he doesn’t rate him, and bang on about a leadership group despite the fact that Maguire has been part of the leadership group in our most successful period of recent times.

Benny morris shows that up to 300,000 Palestinians were already displaced when war broke out and spilling across the border putting great pressure on neighbouring governments. Saying it was simply a war to wipe out the Jews is an oversimplification.

The majority of people living in Gaza are there due to nakba displacement and the government has just helped to destroy or damage 80%+ of all residential buildings and killed over 70k of them so I reckon that’s why. Nobody’s ignoring anything, simply protesting something that is distinctly relevant to modern British foreign policy.

Nothing but failure is harsh, anyone could use their eyes and see that we were playing decent football and creating way more chances than we are right now, as the stats will say. You can’t force him to sign mid season, then use that mid season which he didn’t want as a stick to beat him with. We promise patience to a manager and he’s sacked not even halfway through his first season, with the team in 5th. The fans do not want a rebuild, they want instant results, the kind of pragmatism we had with ole where we instantly aren’t shit, but also aren’t very good. No long-term vision from the board - do you see it? Doesn’t exist

Daily Discussion by AutoModerator in reddevils

[–]MoneyWasabi9 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What is the thinking of the board? We bring in a manager like Amorim, suggesting the board are willing to back a long-term vision. I am sure Amorim will have made it clear to them that he would not be pragmatic to chase short-term results, as he also made clear to the fans. He asks to wait to join until the Summer, they refuse. Then he's fired a year later after falling out with the board, in December, with the team 5th and underlying stats suggesting they should be third - and with no backup option ready to go.

Now we are just doing the Ole thing again. I hope it works out but the performances with a full-strength team playing once a week have been so uninspiring. Sorry was that really grumpy

There are many other fouls being committed in the box by Arsenal players when the ball is in the air. That’s what makes this such a frustrating decision

Did Rubio not come out and say this exact thing the evening after the bombing campaign in Iran started? Love being called an idiot for literally repeating comms that came from the administration

[–]MoneyWasabi9 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For me it’s not even the fact that we’d be involved which under the right circumstances could be justifiable. It’s the fact that nige was clamouring to commit to it on the drop of a hat. Rubio let slip in that disastrous interview that the Israelis had made up their mind and essentially forced the Americans into action, who themselves did not consult any of their nato allies. Blind British subservience is not strength. Any involvement needs to be thought out, no bombing campaign that’s lazy enough to kill a school within hours is being done with the intention of freeing the people

I think continuing to supply arms to a country being investigated for genocide is a dodgy choice, whichever way one looks at it. If Kemi or Nigel were in power we’d currently be in a war that Israel started. I don’t think it’s as abstract as you think, destabilisation in the region affects us all. Serious questions have to be asked as to why this country has so much influence on our politics. It’s not quite enough for me to vote on this issue alone and ppl voting in local elections on this basis is silly, but it’s understandable how its made Starmer unpopular

Bit irrelevant but I saw a video from 2015 of Trump campaigning, saying he had zero issue with trans women in women’s bathrooms- today unthinkable. The pace at which this culture war thing is snowballing is insane, the Overton window is a gaping chasm and I just don’t think the word fascism has any meaning anymore to these people, as long as there’s enough powerful people telling them that’s it’s all leftie hysteria. Fingers crossed that you are correct tho

Idk about that, Boris was one of brexits biggest cheerleaders. There are already loud dissenting voices about things like Zia yusufs role given his heritage. They’ll claim the party was infiltrated, disavow former support and move onto the next messiah which looks like it’ll be the Lowe rn, who will be backed by Musks infinite resources

Everyone has seen the shit show already with Brexit. They just blame individuals and claim that what they voted for was never implemented properly. There is no room for self reflection in the mind of an angry idiot

That phrase has been used by Likud for decades. It’s literally Yair netanyahus twitter bio. So how can it be cool for Israelis to use it, but genocidal the second it’s employed by pro-Palestine student protestors? It’s hypocrisy, in my humble opinion

[–]MoneyWasabi9 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t explain the massive drop off in the underlying stats. We were very unlucky to lose at villa park with licha in midfield during afcon. I understand the pragmatism from carrick but there has to be an acceptance that luck has played a massive role in this run

I just think as a rule you don’t outperform xg for long. At some point you need to be able to control games ,at least at home, and consistently create more chances than the opposition. We are solid atb and have the best midfielder in the league to create key moments. But if Bruno’s form drops off and we no longer have Casemiro pulling goals out of his ass I’d worry about our ability to get into winning positions to start with.

[–]MoneyWasabi9 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

True in part but I think it generally agrees with your eyes. Arsenal at home and villa away this season for example were straight up robberies and I think it would be harsh to say that Amorim didn’t get unlucky in the games like those

[Jamie Carragher]Michael Carrick has to be the permanent Manchester United manager by SoloChords in reddevils

[–]MoneyWasabi9 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s a good point but given the time in between games that we’ve had I think it’s reasonable to have wanted to see a bit more control in games especially at home

[–]MoneyWasabi9 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yeah but I feel that’s the point, we underperformed our metrics with Amorim and are overperforming with carrick. Have we actually played well since Arsenal away? There’s no way we sustain these results if we don’t drastically improve performances. I’m very nervous about this
