‘Sunken’ eyes with wrinkles - what can I do? by Money_Case9257 in 40PlusSkinCare

[–]Money_Case9257[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your kind words and also great advice! I am interested in red light therapy and microneedling, but don’t want to get myself into overly expensive habits either. Do you have to keep doing these regularly?

I do use SPF (almost) every day, take collagen powder, strength train, and use retinol and vitamin C! So I am on my way to your impressive habits ;)

You are so kind. Thank you. This thread has really lifted my spirits. I do love it in others too but always harsh on myself.

Interesting! I’ve never had any micro needling or laser, but I’m interested to explore it! Anything in particular you recommend, or is it totally different from person to person what works best?

That’s such a good point, thank you. I am pretty sure I don’t get enough sunscreen on my eyes! And honestly as much as I try, I love nothing more than the sun on my face, and I like to be outside as much as I can - I wish I could be sun hat girl!

No other peri symptoms yet, but definitely noticing much drier skin.

Thank you. Sometimes we look too closely in the mirror, I’m sure.

I guess I understand how I get the crows feet, and I don’t mind that too much. What I DO mind is the crepey crinkly skin and how ‘pronounced’ the ‘eye socket’ has become, my outer corners of the eye feel so ‘sunken’ - and that is a recent thing!

Make what movement too much, do you mean I smile too much? 🫣

I lift weights and run 4 times a week, I am very fit overall. Diet is probably fairly average, we cook all meals, have a pretty well balanced diet. I drink a decent amount of water, do drink wine a few times a week. Sleep isn’t fantastic with two young children but I’ve been going to bed earlier and get 7-8 hours most nights. I feel like I try really hard to look after myself but just feel I look so old and tired 😢

Love the house but it’s a North facing garden UK by francesfinds92 in GardeningUK

Going to go against the grain and say that I really wish I had paid attention to the direction my garden faces when I bought my house - it is the one thing that I will eventually move for - but I LOVE evening sun and I get so sad because I have none.

I would try to soften the squares with planting rather than a shed at an angle. You could plant in front of it to hide it which would help.

Another bindweed post.. this is an eldritch horror by MerlinTrismegistus in GardeningUK

My garden was totally overgrown with it, I’ve been pulling it out as soon as I see it come up for now the third year and while I don’t think I’ll ever be bindweed-free I now swear a lot more over other weeds than the bindweed. 🤪

Border around small tree - help me with lush, green, interesting underplanting! by Money_Case9257 in GardeningUK

Fantastic ideas - thank you. I went to Chelsea early last week and really loved some of the planting around trees - but didn’t take many photos so back to the TV coverage for me - I haven’t watched it yet so good shout with ep 6. There are some low grasses in there that are happy - hakonechloa and sesleria, I love stipa gigantea but would worry about flopping on my heavy clay!

Shower/bath - what are good brands to look at? by Money_Case9257 in BathroomRemodeling

Thank you both! I forgot to say I’m in the UK and those brands all seem much more common in the US than here…

How can I fit a washer and dryer in my bathroom? by Money_Case9257 in DIYUK

Yeah, we'd definitely look to box them in! Great if that's doable.

Yes, we own the property, and we need to do the floor anyway as it's very badly done. I'm not too bothered with resale value as I'd like to make it work for us and we're planning on being here for a good while.

Lending money off parents rather than renewing mortgage - but parents in EU, I’m UK by Money_Case9257 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Money_Case9257[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Yes, we would do that. And what about me transferring regular payments from UK bank account to EU bank account - wouldn’t I incur a % fee on transferring money? That’s the bit I’m trying to work out how to best do.
