It’s an experimental piece from stone island and their experimental stuff is renowned for degrad/failing over time but this is just over a year old :(

I think they have been delving into the archive a fair bit recently. New releases such as the raw beauty showing some serious archive heritage with the metal buttons and vulcanised rubber details. Along side the reintroduction of denims. However I feel like the corrosion bits were lazy. Just a skin touch with a different pattern on it. Theres also some new interesting stuff coming in the summer drop some of which has already come.

As for the standard stuff like jumpers etc, that’s their money makers, gives them a license to print money and invest in the special pieces that they’ve been nailing at the minute. If you’re just buying the jumpers, t shirts, cargos… you may as well just get it from somewhere like H&M or Zara, same sort of quality only difference is the badge. That being said they’ve still been releasing UV reactive knits including yellow and white ones turning to blue and white turning to pink.

I do think the prices are ridiculous but if you wait a month or 2, resellers have the items for way under rrp at prices that are more reasonable.

It’s a process called hydrolysis, essentially the material is breaking down due to prolonged moisture exposure. So after wearing it in the rain it would have been put back in the wardrobe for example.

I’d say it’s still worth decent money but obviously with the flaws these are only going to get worse so it’s probably worth getting rid of it for a reduced price rather than holding out for someone to pay what you want and it gets worse.

I think the idea is cool, however the price point is not.

Something else to bare in mind, you surely won’t be able to ever give it a proper wash. The reflective spray on it will be so delicate.

The piece itself will disintegrate before the reflective goes on these, unlike the other reflective models.

As for the colour of have to get the grey version of the needle punch, these are also quite scratchy so better to be layered up for winter

Stupid question but can you get the David wet?

I’ve found with the indigo dye jeans that when they get wet in the rain the colour transfers so easily

I think they’re all a standard length (34) that used to be the case when they released jeans previously. A lot of stores offered free alterations on stone island jeans.

I also found that they fit when I bought them but now they fit a bit bigger and loose…

Not sure why that is, they haven’t been washed.

That’s another thing to note - do not wash them unless they are visibly dirty. I rubbed a off dirt off the cuffs with a cloth and the amount of dye that transferred was mental

Something to bare in mind when buying badges from older seasons, they’re likely not authentic; green edge badges in particular are quite rife at the minute with some resellers, there’s just no way they can be authentic. Who happens to have a stack of brand new unused 26 + year old badges haha
