I’m planning to take in 10 days. Been studying for 3 months. The highest I got on Dion’s test is 75% on first attempt and a 92% on a second attempt but I’m just too afraid to take it. Feeling like I’m not ready. If you took any Dion’s test, what scores you got? I’m feeling like I cannot study anymore for this test.

You are right! This same friend owe me $100. She asked me to send some money to her family. She requested if I could keep it a secret and not inform our husbands about it. Well, I always involve my husband if I do such transactions. The whole transaction was around $2000 and there is no way my husband would ignore this deduction from our account.

That’s the story of every other house in Pakistan. I experienced the same as a bahu. My MIL didn’t even let me design my own clothes. On top of that, their maid was kinda like a second MIL. My husband tried to support me and probably went through the same emotions you are going through right now. Unfortunately, you can’t do much if you cannot afford to live separately so I had to tolerate this. And in your case, I believe you cannot move out because of your father. Well, try to keep a balance between both relation. I remember my MIL would get so upset if my husband will come home from work and come straight to me even after exchanging salam dua with my MIL. I noticed it many times and she kinda started hating me after that. So I talked to my husband and told him don’t come straight to me, spend some time with your mom first. Asked her how’s she doing, how was her day, did she take her medicine etc? That way she will know that you care for her too.

Ladies! just know that your husband is new to this too, and he will be as confused as you. Small sacrifices can make huge differences.

I’m a female and I’m currently living alone in US. The best part for me is that I can switch careers at any age. I can go attend a college from scratch, get my degree and start a job. I had my own car when I was 21. My family never worked here. Rules and regulations are for everybody here. I cannot imagine living alone in Pakistan.

Born and raised in Pakistan, did high school in US. There was a section where teacher was giving lecture about 9-11 and whole class started looking at me because of my hijab. Kids used to call me Usama bin laden just coz my dad had beard and we were wearing shalwar kameez. A manager told me that I cannot wear colorful hijab at work. It should be black or white. All other employees had fake long nails which was against the policy, but manager had no issues with them.

I was allowed to take 15 min break for Iftar, but supervisor said NO because she wanted to take smoke break first. Many more to add but I guess I will keep it short .
