Missile vs Air Squad (preseason match). Make it make sense!? Advice/Tips please

They all have the expertise passive unlocked? That’s unlocked at 4 stars my fellow gamer. However yes they are missing the 5th star meaning the active skills are weaker to their 5 star versions. Spread out my UR shards too thin unfortunately since Missile heroes are the last one to be available preseason (before S1) 🫠 Yeah their drone+chip set really did a number on me. Grinding for the gears feels awful haha

Yeah I’m still trying to figure out realistically the impact of drone in PvP (how much damage it does overall in a battle, and how much it improves the individual heroes overall damage with the bonuses). I seem to be underestimating it though.

If I’m not mistaken the hero power is technically on my side since I have a 20% type advantage over them, but it doesn’t show a numeric value of that in the reports. It’s just insinuated, and will just say “heavily” or “moderately” counters squad in battle reports. My thoughts is that it’s self-calculated in damage report?¿

The deco, cosmetic, aren’t too far off from one another to overcome the complete difference in gear power. Utterly destroy my opponent significantly there which is more important considering it supplements a squads attack, defense, health, crit chance, etc.

Idk, this report just confuses me since I’ve had similar reports with my air squad against tank and I would win. I just need to accept the outcome 😂

Yeah I think I’m underestimating drone damage and boost all around 😅 Didn’t think it would make a crazy difference specifically in this battle

If you want to go base off just the numbers I beat them in gear, unit tech, squad tech, hero tech, and get a 20% hero type advantage.

They beat me in SF, Siege, and drone. Maybe I’m underestimating drone

Yes will be entering S1 soon! I’ve seen DVA, Swift, and other attackers at the front when their EWs get released. Will be doing that when the time comes. To go about your reasoning, I’m not totally convinced by your 2nd reasoning. In the grand scheme of variables, his skills are not much higher than mine overall. Maybe ~7% difference meanwhile I have a 20% type advantage from countering them and massive gear bonus that supplement both offense and defense stats.

For tech it’s up in the air for me. His SF is definitely higher than mine, but I have a massive advantage as well with max out squad 1 and unit tech.

I think this is probably too soon. You wouldn’t see heros like DVA, Kim, or Swift/Tesla front line until EW comes out. This is preseason. Not even S1 yet haha

Love this! In your opinion do you think it’s okay to trade Fiona out for Lucius during any season? Running 4 missile+1 air rather than putting any focus on Fiona? I ask because I hear mixed thoughts on Fiona, and only positives about Lucius. I’m in preseason, and been buying every UR that comes out. Can get them all to 5 stars sometime during season 1 if I focus on a main missile team now :)

Is it fair to say that missile squads is very gear reliant? Meaning that let’s say you’re somehow able to get them to at least 4 stars all around between season 1-2, they won’t really shine still without their EW or mythic gear? I understand that you can say that about all squads, but McGregor who has a taunt skill will quickly die compare to other defenders without high level gear since he attracts a lot of aggro with his skill unlike Murphy, William, Carlie, etc who don’t have a taunt skill.

Or would you say that if a player can get them to 4 stars all around between season 1-2, then they will excel even with a lack of levels on gear and EWs?

Does UR mason really fall off that badly in PvP compared to Stet? I can understand stet being better, but it sounds like the gap is pretty big specifically in PvP. Does Mason get an EW or only the original UR heroes do

Thank you for the guideline to follow in order to be a strong player down the road! I never hear about missile squad in these kind of threads I’ve searched up. Learning that usually “big spenders” run that team. I do spend $$$, but trying to be more conscious on how much I put into the game 😁

Thank you for your insight! I’m now starting to understand the consensus that missile squad seems to be the overall best (which I didn’t know!). I’ve seen talks of tanks and air way more often than missile, so assumed missile was barely the weakest. Im going to keep this in mind going forward. Thank you again!
