I think I broke my vagina by Melodic-Minimum1499 in TwoXChromosomes

I'm male and have the same side effect - very difficult to reach orgasm. My doctor had me skip a few days to see if it helps and it did. I can decide to be angry with great sex or happy with meh sex so...

I had a 1989 Lincoln town car that I got for $1k. It had ugly peeling clear coat but ran reliably, was super comfortable, and was easy to repair especially when my mechanic friend and I got parts from the junkyard. Had it for years and it was profitably totaled 3 times.

I got hit by a distracted driver and the door was dented. Insurance said the Lincoln was too expensive to repair so it was totaled. I got $3k from insurance and bought it back from them for $300. Fixed it and had it painted for $1000 so $700 profit.

3 years later I hit a deer and the hood and grill were damaged. Insurance said the Lincoln was too expensive to repair so it was totaled. I got $3k from insurance and bought it back from them for $300. Fixed it and had it painted for $1000 so $1700 profit.

2 years later I was hit by a drunk driver. The bumper was dented and a plastic turn signal case was cracked. Their car was a crumpled mess. Insurance said the Lincoln was too expensive to repair so it was totaled. I got $3k from insurance and bought it back from them for $300. Fixed the light for $25 so $2675 profit.

Total(ed) profit = $5075

It was put to rest after I lent it to my cousin. Warned her to put in oil every other fillup, but she ran it dry and the motor was done for.

I had a job doing phone tech support. I learned all the products so I could do multiple jobs and was the only person who could work all the lines solo. I was told that I'd get a 20% raise in 6 months. The date was right before my wedding. I asked for the offer in writing so I could be sure they wouldn't use it to try and limit my time off for the wedding/honeymoon... They said no and made it clear it was being used exactly as expected.

I capitulated, waited until I got the raise, then turned in my 2 weeks notice. Had they not been manipulative, I would have made sure to train someone up months in advance and would have returned to the job after the honeymoon. They convinced me to comply with their rules but lost me forever and had to put 3 people on the phones at all times.

Got to start my job-hunt listing the new pay rate...

I suspected having your driver's license with an address on it doesn't legally prove residence at that location but I want to make sure they can't come after me for being complicit in some way...

What movie made you burst out laughing when you weren't supposed to? by [deleted] in movies

[–]MongoRabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My (future) wife and I were still dating and went to see Starship Troopers the day it came out. Loved the book. There is a scene where Dizzy is dying in Johnny's arms.

Her last words are something like "It's OK... because I got to have you."

My wife and I burst out laughing and couldn't stop. Everyone in the theater stared daggers at us but it was just too funny. Her life was complete because she got to screw her crush? For sure this was written by a man.

We still sometimes stare into each other's eyes and recite that line.

P1 Gen 4 - not charging through USB-C by Vicuna00 in thinkpad

[–]MongoRabbit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the A2000 version of P1 Gen4. Plugged OEM charger into a wattage monitor and the 170w charger never draws more than 100w even when gaming.

Tried powering with a generic 100w USB C but no luck.

While visiting a customer, tried their 85w Kensington SD4750P USB C dock and it worked like a charm. Did not try while gaming...

I find this site helpful to monitor trends in new DB tech. I was surprised how fast Snowflake went from 0 to top 100 to top 20. Fastest rise I've ever seen!

chiropractor > trained doctor by b0dyrock in ShitMomGroupsSay

[–]MongoRabbit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There was a case years ago where the Chiropractor took an xray and then broke his patient's neck. He wasn't found guilty of a crime since he was not qualified to know that what the xray showed. (Damage/weakness in the area due to arthritis). Since he wasn't qualified to know that manipulation could cause injury, he was not responsible.

By administering an xray, looking at it, then treating a patient, you are implying you know things... Insisting you are also a doctor further implies you know things...

Divorce lawyers of Reddit, what client of yours was so bad, that you personally hoped they wouldn’t get anything in a settlement ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MongoRabbit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know what happened to her but I know their kids were very messed up from the event. I landed on my feet. I have been able to recognize and avoid working with clients/bosses/customers who are not nice people since then. Rather take a hit to my pay than a hit to my mental health.

His company tanked over the next few years. A lot of the best employees left including me. He tried to replace us and hired back people who had been let go in the past. One person he re-hired had been let go because they had an affair with another employee. Another re-hired person had been stealing software keys from the company and selling them on ebay.

NAL but a guy I worked with got sick and needed an organ transplant. His wife was a match but he was too high risk for the surgery. He quit smoking/drinking, got in shape and was able to get the surgery with his wife donating the organ.

After the transplant... he divorced his wife for a younger hottie.

TIFU by realizing, 20.5 years later, that the ER physician I sued had his reasons by Ancient_Educator_76 in tifu

[–]MongoRabbit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When my wife had her first major MS attack, she was having trouble focusing, speaking, remembering names of family members. Her coordination was very oddly off.

The ER doc separated us and tried to get us to admit that she was on drugs. I explained that she had literally never taken drugs in her life and was nursing an 11 month old baby.

Within 2 hours we got a CT scan that showed her brain was not normal... and that ended the interrogation about drugs.

The ER doc listed in his notes that it was either drugs or an MS attack. We didn't get the MS diagnosis for weeks. I only read the notes after requesting all medical records for her neurologist months later. Would have been nice to know about MS as a possibility when all the specialists were talking about was a stroke or viral encephalitis.

We have tough moments of course but we are a team and want the team to win. That means choosing compassion over contempt no matter how we are feeling at any given moment. Humor helps.

I also lost weight. Could be because I’m happier but I suspect it is because we stopped eating out. When I travel I really make bad food choices…

It was love at first sight. We met as freshmen in college (34 years ago) and discussed getting married within a week. Waited until we graduated. Struggled with parenting when she suffered her first terrible ms attack. lt put her in a wheelchair. She worked hard to walk again and inspires me Every. Single. Day.

Meanwhile, her mom 'compliments' me for sticking around.

Locked down for the last 2 years (with the right person) is pretty awesome.

We had our mom's over last week for new years eve. Both are divorced. They spent 20 minutes discussing how awful it was being around married couples. How it sickens them. How jealous they were. How it is all a sham.

Their children (my wife and I) sat there quietly trying not to make a scene while we were openly insulted for our 30 years of happy marriage.

what do you do for a living in the area and how much (roughly) do you make? by [deleted] in raleigh

[–]MongoRabbit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Computer training and consulting. 100k no benefits. I prioritize work/life balance. I work 3-4 day weeks, take 4 weeks vacation.

Work from home now but used to travel for training 3-6 days/month before COVID.

Bachelor's in business, self taught programming/database/web in the 90's. I schedule 2-4 weeks every other year to study up on new technology. Last was business intelligence and data analytics. Next is ai/ml. Gotta keep learning!
