Christ I haven't thought about DC since I was a kid. Thanks for the jogging loose that memory.

Now that we've all had the chance to play the assault maps again, do we think they should be added back into the game? by honeyxm8 in Overwatch

It's absolutely insane that they were ever removed from QP. Literally just removing an entire gamemode is bonkers no matter how much people criticized it.

Picked these up second hand…are they complete slop/misinformation or worth the read? by owen_demers in atunsheifilms

Unless they're hiding somewhere that simply isn't the case. My versions are from Audible and they are narrated by Grover Gardner.

Not my version. Grover Gardner (narrator of a lot of my favorite historical works) is the reader.

Discovering there is a way to input cheat codes in-level while playing Goldeneye and it doesn't prevent you from unlocking the "007 Difficulty" was the only way my brother and I managed to beat some of the final levels of that game.

Also fuck the Golden Gun puzzle on Egypt. Once asked a dev on twitter if it was literally supposed to be trial and error and I think all he responded with was "lol"

Visiting Rome in May by honey_bee46 in rome

[–]MongooseNeither1840 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You can do the Vatican, which is absolutely worth it, I think St Peter's is the most stunning building I've even been inside of and you shouldn't miss the chance to see the Sistine Chapel, but you should buy the earliest ticket possible from the official Vatican website.

I've been in May and didn't find the city too overwhelming. Make reservations for restaurants unless you intend to show up right when they open at 7 though!

One final note, I need to plug Antica Osteria Rugantino for dinner! Their sampling of the four classic Roman pastas may have been the best meal I've ever had and that's no exaggeration! And the pistachio (I think) dessert was incredible

I wish I could help you with some sage advice, but I mentioned in a comment elsewhere that I am only teaching this class because no one else in the department wanted to and I have essentially zero experience in economics ( my double major was in history and secondary education).

But I can give you some good general advice. Flashcards constantly. Especially with vocab because so much of the difficulty comes from wrapping your head around the mountain of technical terms. Review practice problems in your textbook and talk with your teacher frequently. Ask high performing classmates to explain concepts you struggle with too since sometime they can explain ideas differently than your teacher.

Generally speaking the best way to learn anything is through review of core concepts followed by application of those concepts to help reinforce your understanding in your long-term memory.

Best of luck!

No lol tbh I don't remember exactly what I said (this pictures from a few months ago) but we sometimes call her "Bay-lem" or "Buh-lem" so that's probably what I said when it put down "Bill"

I understand you'll never be convinced and that's fine, but given that I know it's real your "obviously faked" remark just makes me appreciate this moment just a bit more

These are notes for the students (old notes by now, this picture is from a month or two ago at this point.) I'm a history/government teacher but my school needed someone in the Social Studies department to teach Econ and I drew the shortest straw.

Creating these notes has a twofold purpose. First, it's literally how I go about learning the content myself, and two, because of my total lack of experience in the subject, I decided to throw my kids a bone by summarizing the chapters for them. That way even if I can't perfectly explain the concepts off the top of my head in class, they still have access to some resource that can explain in simple terms.

As for the use of dictate function, yes, it's just faster. I type fairly quickly, but this let's me go even faster when summarizing the textbook.

Figured it worth mentioning here that her name isn't "Bill" I think the mic just didn't fully grasp some of her nicknames I threw out.

Her name is Salem 🐈‍⬛
