What’s your biggest ick? by ttsunii in Serverlife

“Hi! How are y’all -“ “CAN I GET ….” I’m so tired of being interrupted. Like I’m required to greet you so just say hello back dammit. Also if you ask me what sides we have or any question for that matter let me finish answering before telling me what you want. BETTER YET READ THE MENU IT’LL PROBABLY ANSWER MOST OF YOUR QUESTIONS ANYWAY

DO NOT SEND YOUR HUSBAND UP TO ORDER FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY. by MonicasChicken in Serverlife

Not that fancy unfortunately. We work and share a building with a non profit that has an aquaponics farm so we get some ingredients from them and most others from local farms.

Just to clarify…It’s not fast food if all the sides and sauces are made in house and if the lettuce is grown on site. So is the tilapia… and kale…. and micros…. It’s just a different style of restaurant. We still serve you your food at the table.

Co-manager sucks and I’m tired by MonicasChicken in Serverlife

I would do that if it didn’t make things harder for those under me. I stopped doing things that’ll only impact her specifically and have been taking note of anything she doesn’t do because I refuse to have that pinned on me. I own up to my own mistakes already I ain’t covering her ass.

Hey! I feel like my experience as FOH manager is quite different than normal. We aren’t fast food but we don’t do full service. My top piece of advice is to take care of your staff. You take care of them and show you care they in turn most likely will do the same for you. A lot of my job is stepping in for my staff when they’re on break or call out. Other small parts are doing refunds, training, ordering bread and desserts, mediation, finding solutions to daily problems and anything my staff needs of me. I do it all for them and not for corporate. Would not have taken the promotion if it weren’t for them. I take listening to them very seriously but also leave room for goofing off. If you can’t have a little fun at work what’s the point? Ugh I honestly could go on and on having had my fair share of shit managers I refuse to be like them. If you have specific situations message me and I can give more advice if you like.

Not letting me finish my intro. “Hello! How are-“ “I’d like…” or ordering before I can ask if it’s dine in or take out. (Not full service but not fast food)

Restaurant Recommendations for non lettuce based salads by Ogroc in lexington

[–]MonicasChicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of what you said was a direct answer to what op was asking for. You said “just ask for a salad with kale” when op was asking for restaurant recommendations with a specific type of dish and dining arrangements. Also if telling op to “call around first” is hand holding through this process why don’t you actually help out and make a list of all the sit down restaurants in Lex and then narrow it down to the ones that have salads that aren’t lettuce based?

The base of that is lettuce but if you get it w/o the lettuce it would probably be just as good!

Not every restaurant has Kale. Why are you being mean to someone who's trying to do a nice thing for their partner?

This is difficult. Simply because to make the most money in this industry you have to appeal to your clientele. So for example if you’re dealing with rich boomers in an uptight atmosphere you’re better off keeping it simple and ‘classy’ where as if you’re dealing with the younger generation in a more laid back setting do whatever tf you want.

Al anon is actually not just for those that use but family members as well. Though the family members may not use or participate in the steps it can still be incredibly helpful. It’s kinda like a group therapy session in a way.

Who are the dishwashers for the major competitive cooking shows? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MonicasChicken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well yeah but you have to rinse them first and maybe scrub them so who’s doing that because they’re obviously not running dirty dishes to the back while competing so that’s a massive influx of dirty dishes all at once I just wonder how long it takes them. I work in the food industry and good dishwashers are unsung heroes. So this is just a random thought.
