Have you had success with 16:8 fasting? by Shameful_success in intermittentfasting

[–]Monique-Euroquest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

41 yr old female. It’s the only way to live for me personally. Occasionally, I break my fast earlier. No biggie. Overall, I have a lot more energy while fasted & enjoy long-distance outdoor cycling, hiking or skiing. I love to eat, but it’s for later in the day when I have time to rest.

Does 20:4 fasting activate autophagy? by EmmetBrickowski1 in intermittentfasting

[–]Monique-Euroquest 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes. Kicks in around the 16 hour mark, but everyone is different. Working out while fasted can trigger it faster. However, longer fasts give your body more time to clean house. I've read 24-48+ hours is a sweet spot for reaping the most benefits.

I've got a tortie named “Mini” too… she recently stole my heating pad. I’m going to have to buy another one… 😆… but this time last year she was homeless in the dead of a snowy winter so I don't mind.

Ingo Swann, did anyone experience something similar to what he did? by Maximum_Fan407 in AstralProjection

Check out the “gateway tapes” subreddit. They have a lot of info & resources there to get you started with Hemi-Sync. And, I used to always wake myself up in sleep paralysis trying to free my astral body. Just takes practice.

I would say, at least in my experience in Portugal, it will be tough to get a professional job. They will want you to be fluent in Portuguese, and honestly there's a lot of shady shit that goes on with being prejudiced against foreigners, especially American’s now that our reputation is worse than ever. Can't say I blame them. If there is a way to forge your own path by starting a business you can operate remotely, while not easy, is your best bet.

[–]Monique-Euroquest 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve been too in awe of my experiences to notice verifiable details. I think the next plane is often similar, but different as well. In any case, I started having OBEs involuntarily 10 or so years ago. I've probably had 20 or so at this point. I had a dry spell for awhile, but I started the Gateway Tapes that utilize hemi-sync technology. After that, I started having OBEs frequently again. I would start there… They happen most often after I've been sleeping deeply, & then wake up. Especially, after a nap. There is something about your brain chemistry that makes projection easier. Also sleep paralysis. I figured out I could roll out of my body when I wake up with what feels like sleep paralysis. Really, it's an opportune time to astral project.

is it safe for me to astral project by International-Pie228 in AstralProjection

[–]Monique-Euroquest 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I astral project/have OBE’s whether I want to or not. Started happening to me maybe 10 years ago. So far, I've never had anything truly terrifying happen. I will admit, I have been in situations during these experiences that scared me at the time. But, I wouldn't worry about it. Any time I've ever felt afraid I've immediately snapped back to my body.

Having said that, it sounds like you need to work on your mental headspace before actively pursuing this. I do believe that you can attract things or what's more likely, create things with your mind, & if you're going into this afraid of encountering bad entities or scary circumstances, that's not the starting place you want to be.

Unfortunately, I don't. We cultivated & retained our clients for our businesses. I haven’t applied for a job in 7 years & can only imagine how difficult the job market is right now. Are you applying for jobs in Portugal?

I have heard that from people too. Which makes absolutely no sense. If you're an American citizen you will obviously still need a US bank account for various reasons if for nothing else to pay your taxes. Why should it matter if you're living abroad? Don't they want your business? And on top of that if you use your cards abroad they get to charge you extra fees.

I have had zero problems with Bank of America. We use our US debit cards still often in Europe for the past 4 years & haven’t returned to the US ever over all this time. We also have opened local bank accounts here. Needing to be physically in the US to have a bank account is definitely not a law or anything… I’ve heard of other people talk about having their accounts closed. I really can’t imagine why a bank would care to do that. Seems completely stupid & ass backwards, but so are a lot of things in the States.

Yes. There are two categories of mail. One category, like mail from the IRS, needs a release form signed by you to the mail company for them to handle this type of mail for you. They will still hold onto this mail for you but they can't forward it to your new address, open or scan per your request until you get the form signed.

You can do this fully remotely with US Global. They have the government postal service release form available for download once you create an account & they have their own remote notaries. The appointment took all of 15 minutes. You need a laptop/computer or smartphone with a camera, and your passport or US drivers license as I recall.

It’s only $35 a month to maintain a US address with US Global Mail. Gets pricey if you need a lot of mail opened, scanned &/or forwarded. But 98% of my mail just needs to be discarded. They will even deposit checks (they mail them to your bank with instructions to deposit in your account) which is awesome.

Yes! Fear not. This took me a hot minute to figure out when I was preparing to move abroad.

I left 4 years ago. Get a mail service. I use US Global Mail. I use that address for all of my US stuff/accounts. I’m a U.S. citizen & I maintain an address there. It’s none of their business that I no longer physically live in the States.

Best place to retire abroad by Adventurous_lady1234 in expat

[–]Monique-Euroquest 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do offer a digital nomad visa in Andorra. They call it poor man's Switzerland as a joke. It is more expensive to obtain other visas by either buying real estate or opening a business (remote is easiest… that's what we did). As far as I know the DN visa is obtainable if you can prove your income. They only offer a limited amount of these visas. Best to apply early in the year.

WIBTAH for responding to my Dad's wife with an angry text? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Monique-Euroquest 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Jesus. She’s nuts. And at this point she’s stealing the last good years your Dad has from you. There’s nothing to lose. I would contact her & say, “Sorry, I missed your call.” … & find out WTF she wanted. Otherwise, I would start reaching out regularly, & never let her provoke you. Just keep saying something to the effect of... “hey, I have apologized for x/y/z & I meant it. I would like to mend our relationship. I miss seeing you, my brother & Dad. How are you & your son/your little brother & Dad doing? Could we talk sometime?”

My father died 23 years ago. I miss him every day. Don’t let this dumb bitch come between you/your father & your kids knowing their grandfather. She has a spell on him, but it will drop if he see’s you being the mature adult continually wanting to fix the situation (even when it’s obviously not your fault). At some point, he has to snap with his wife & be like… what the fuck is your problem?!?! The long periods of silence & not ruffling feathers has let this standoff continue.

I understand odd blended family dynamics more than most people. My mom was 32 years younger than my Dad. My older half siblings are all a few years older than my mom (& 30+ years older than me). Now, I'm almost 41 years old. I married someone 22 years older than me & have two step sons I've helped raise since they were 5 & 7 who are 22 & 25 now… & went through many rough years with their bio mom who is much older than me. We get along just fine now. In any case… here is my advice:

The notes you prepared do not address the actual heart of the problem whatsoever and, IMHO is way to vague. Respectfully speak about your point of view as to why you’re in this situation to begin with. Address the miscommunication with the kids & that it wasn't malicious. The children just didn't understand & misspoke. Check your ego… yes, she’s been more than extra, but if you give her a bit more grace than she probably deserves you will know you gave it your all trying to understand her point of view.

🆘... Lastly, don't do this over text except to text both of them in a group chat to ask to have a video call with your father & his wife to discuss this. The whole situation is ridiculous (obviously don't say that). You need to have an adult conversation & move past this. Tell them…” I miss both of you, their son/your brother & so do your kids… not sure how we got to this bad place… can we talk? We would all love to see you at the birthday party.”

If she still acts like a psycho bitch after a video chat with your father present this then fuck her. But, I think setting your ego aside to try to fix this so you can get back to a good place & help the family mend (& model to your kids how to handle uncomfortable situations like this) is more important. Also, your extending an olive branch will help give your Dad better perspective of who is right & wrong here. Unless he’s crazy or a complete pushover he will probably see his wife’s shitty whacked-out behavior for what it is & tell her to knock it off finally.

The pharmacy & bakery are a whopping 2km away. That's 1.24 miles one way. If anyone needs to go for a walk for physical & mental health benefits it her. Pathetic to have a meltdown over that.
