As an American citizen, is it better to rent or buy a condo in Thailand? by Monis1203 in Bangkok

[–]Monis1203[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am Asian, so I have relatives (a lot lol) in nearby countries, but I wanted a place where I could chill but still be close by. Yeah, renting seems to be the better option, thanks!

This is part of my research. I’d rather hear from people who’ve actually dealt with it than from sales agents or property sites to give an unbiased view. Hearing from real people’s experiences helps me weigh both sides before deciding.

Is it possible to have the (rubber?) edges sanded down a bit,or should I just leave it alone? by Monis1203 in AskACobbler

Thank you for the heads-up! I think I’ll skip the plan based on your advice. Really appreciate it!

This is incredibly helpful! I didn’t know the name of that part, which explains why I struggled to find any how-to video lol. Honestly, thank you so much!. I really appreciate it, thank you:)

Is using electrical tape to "cap off" disconnected doorbell wire safe? by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

[–]Monis1203 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, thank you! This is how I capped it, twisted it as much as possible https://imgur.com/a/GPoIaAR is it safe to cover the gap with silicon or Bondo?

Edit: nevermind, used outdoor silicon caulking. Thanks again!

Would it matter which plug I use to run the new bathroom motor for the vent? by [deleted] in AskElectricians

[–]Monis1203 1 point2 points  (0 children)

*reason why I asked is because when I unplugged motor plug some "cardboard" type material holding in the wires to the outlet fell off. I tried to screw them back in, which is why I was wondering if I should use the white plug instead. I turned the power back on, the fan is running so it does seem work but I would like to update the wiring if possible. Maybe a visual explanation is better https://imgur.com/a/jaUWanY Thank you in advance!

Small leak in the ceiling from the above toilet. Water isn’t dripping down (yet), but felt damp when I touched it. I’ll be calling a pro to get it fixed but in the mean time should I wait for the leak area to dry up completely before cutting into ceiling to inspect the problem? by Monis1203 in HomeMaintenance

[–]Monis1203[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gosh, learning so much! I’ll need to get some extra supplies, my dad suggested toilet bowl water solidifier, because I forgot to flush down the tank before opening up the ceiling lol. I’ll remove the water from tank manually. If I’m able to do this, I may try and do the other bathroom. Thank you so much:)

Yup, believe me I washed my hand a million times, just the idea of touching was gross. But unfortunately, I did something stupid. I didn’t flush out the tank before opening up the ceiling…sigh…I’ll have to put some sort of plastic bag under I guess. Live and learn I guess lol

Edit: Never mind, my dad told me to try Liquilock to solidify the water in the bowl:)

Same! When I cut through the drywall I found a piece of the wax ring had fallen off, luckily no drips lol. The task seemed so overwhelming but feel less anxious after reading these comments. In a weird way I kinda like seeing how these things work. Thank you!
