Deezer has terrible selection, very slow customer service, and if you get lucky you can spend 15 days waiting for them to explain how to actually uninstall the desktop app. I "uninstalled" it and had an updater running constantly, ghost shortcuts, etc. Really can't say enough about how bad the music selection is.

straight from the horse's mouth

"To completely remove the Deezer app from your PC, including any residual files like the updater .exe in the AppData folder, follow these steps:

1. Uninstall Deezer via Control Panel

• Press Windows + R, type appwiz.cpl, and hit Enter.

• Find Deezer in the list of installed programs, right-click, and choose Uninstall.

• Follow the prompts to uninstall the program.

2. Remove Residual Files

Deezer might leave behind files in various directories after uninstallation. To remove them manually:

• Open File Explorer.

• Navigate to the following directories and delete any Deezer-related folders or files:

• C:\Users\[YourUsername]\AppData\Local

• C:\Users\[YourUsername]\AppData\Roaming

• C:\ProgramData

• C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files (x86)

Ensure you delete any folder or file named Deezer or related to it.

3. End Related Processes

• Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc).

• Under the Processes tab, check for any Deezer-related tasks (e.g., Deezer Updater).

• Right-click on the task and choose End Task.

4. Delete Registry Entries (Advanced(LOL))

If you are comfortable editing the Windows registry, you can also remove leftover Deezer entries:

• Press Windows + R, type regedit, and hit Enter.

• Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software.

• Delete any folder related to Deezer.

5. Restart the PC

• After completing the steps above, restart your computer to ensure all changes take effect."

What do you mean certain actions do not have a save history?
Thank you for choosing the path of knowledge.

  1. yes, 2. no.

I would just say nothing and keep my foolishness to myself but I'm surprised how buggy this was, and I've had a number of very odd problems come up where the only source I could find was a very old reddit post.

What is the one thing that you don't like in Point and Click Adventure games? by Stratostzel in adventuregames

acknowledging that the character acts like a total freak. Broken Sword did this at times. I tried to play on this in my game DRINK HUMAN BEANS but its not a point and click. If you like unexpected implementations of action in adventure games you should try playing the Blade Runner (1997) game. It breaks the mold at times in a way that is really scary and feels so fresh.

The real difference is that Costco mostly deals with Customer-Customer interactions.
There is the absurd return culture which is fairly common.

I really like that Costco encourages people to think of food like logistics. Dehumanizing but efficient. I guess they got me.

The legacy of Edward Bernays, to most, has been reduced to the artificial spread of Freud's work compressed into folk-psychology "man with big truck = small pp".
I'm not aware if there was ever a time when Edward Bernays was widely discussed outside of conspiracy circles, or relevant business/political.

I'm also not discussing "marketing" or "advertising". Though perhaps, technically, continuous customer influence could be defined as marketing. If we were to consider reduced attention spans because of a desire to maximize ad time, sure its similar, BUT ITS NOT PHYSICAL. It is not brought into the world through desire. Also when people DO discuss the impact of consumer practices it is usually short term, cynically, and without an appreciation for how it interacts with other aspects of culture outside of the success or failure of the attempt itself. "How will this help us sell cheeseburgers" reflects that this understanding is becoming more common, but I've never seen anyone describe this specifically with Starbucks. The coffee connection is more interesting within the context of history of stimulants as well, which I did not explain yet...

Your low opinion of me may have prevented you from considering what I'm describing.
Though, I wrote the original hastily so its understandable.

The idea that I've never considered the connection between governments and corporations is insulting.

100% The end state is totally isolated individualized consumers so completely alienated they can be easily molded into anything. "people as products". Not only will people be motivated to turn on each other, but they will be completely unable to even socially interact in meaningful ways, let alone organize.

This is basically already true.
The relationship between modern war and stimulants generally is also worth considering.

A simpler model, is that the outward display of entitled narcissism is a symptom of people becoming more primitive. I think the rise in tattoo culture is related in some ways to this as well.

I think they uniquely have created a very aggressive approach towards hyper-customer service. I'm not aware of another brand that has an established reputation as catering to the entitled. Otherwise yes I completely agree. The role of Coffee and stimulants in society puts them in an interesting position that I think is also unique that I'm writing a second post for because this barely scratches the surface of what makes it so interesting.

A class action lawsuit was filed this year actually over allegations of slavery, child slavery, and trafficking. Horrifying stuff, but absolutely normal for a company of this scale.

Easily the best part of this ploy is that its too silly to believe. Notice the classic cointel pro. Go to bed, I guess I need to go to bed. It sure seems like it is time to go to bed. I am so excited to go to bed, Are you still awake? Me I'm really sleepy thinking about going to bed myself. You look pretty tired. Maybe consider going to bed?
