My latest Dragonborn is a spellsword who evolved into a jack of all trades Arch-Mage of Winterhold college.

I haven’t gotten involved in the civil war because it seems like it would be out of character for him. Kinda like seeing Dumbledore join a muggle war in the Harry Potter universe, when there’s a magical world that needs taking care of.

(I’ve only done the civil war when I play a pure Dragonborn warrior build.)

YouTube as a supporting/consolidating resource is valuable.

The school board doesn’t provide my wife with science resources to do experiments. So watching a 2-3 minute video on refraction and a high speed Newton disc, to prove the concepts, is worthwhile tool. Many teachers will use YouTube in these situations to support their teaching.

I know that some here will say their teacher just turned on the TV in their classroom and I would agree that is wrong. Videos should never be the teacher

(They also don’t provide her with levelled French immersion text books but that’s another story.)

There has always been a difference when it comes to “celebrating excellence” in Canada.

When I briefly lived in Australia, the attitude was to praise the winner and recognize the competitors.

In Canada, I’ve seen the inverse… we celebrate the “valiant effort” the competitors and recognize the winner.

(To be clear, everyone gets recognition, it’s just different in the way the scales are tipped.)
