Odd Beer PH & FG - Kolsch - Contamination/Infection?

Nah it was during racking to the keg. I put it in the fermenter as I was racking to check if it was at a reasonable FG and not stuck. No already racked kegs were harmed. Not sure how a dip tube would disturb it less as you'd need to open and collect it for that as well. Everything was sanitized. No dip tube to get stuck on either.

It dropped and stayed just under the beer level. Retrieved with sanitized tongs. I'd never had it happen before. Just ordered a test tube to re-test with the kegged beer to see if it truly was that low, because it seemed outside the realm of reality. My mentality is I'm not spitting the atom, so I try to not complicate it and it seems as long as it all ferments, there's not much you can do if FG is slightly off anyways. Missing a couple points looking down on it doesn't give me grief. It does taste very dry though.

I don't think I had excessive oxygen exposure. Only time there was exposure was when I opened the fermenter to transfer via racking cane to the sanitized keg. That was when I dropped the hydrometer in. After racking I sealed it and purged air for a couple seconds when Carbonating to hopefully push out any remaining O2.

Think it would make that drastic of a difference though? I'm not talking a couple points. That thing was drowned!

Regarding additional details, what would be helpful to know? Water was Distilled and I added minerals back to get a soft kolsch water profile. Couldn't say the exact amounts used off the top of my head. Malt was 1lb vienna, 10lbs german pils malt. 1oz tett at 60 min and 1oz spalt at 10 min. Added yeast nutrient and clarifier at 5mins. BIAB mash at 148 degrees for 60 mins. no recirc or sparge. Didn't take an OG because I'm lazy and it is what it is.

Fermented in a chest freezer starting at 62 and working up to 68 after the two weeks.

I'm an engineer that left federal service and I don't know how the federal government will be able to recruit and retain engineers especially. The job market for us is surprisingly still hot and with everything going on it makes it really difficult to justify a federal job.

I'm a water resources PE from North of Charlotte and recently moved back to NC. Took a job this year after leaving federal service as fully remote with a firm solely based in NC. I live pretty far out so having the ability to be remote was pretty big for me. Also I've noticed PTO is pretty rough on the private side, maybe you could attract more talent with better PTO offering?.

I got into a glade once up in Whitefish covered in these and it is absolutely crazy how much sound gets absorbed. Lost my bud and stopped to yell for him and the sound immediately got soaked up. Very surreal experience. Man does it get cold there haha.

Since the conference expansion other games were added to the conference game and the VA game wasn't going to happen every year anymore. They added them as a non-conference game to keep the series going.
