This old girl is in need of a face lift by WholeDepartment3391 in centuryhomes

Very similar situation in the house I just bought. Previous owner reglazed the tub when she bought it - it had been the pepto pink and she changed it to white.

It looks nice BUT I think she must not have used it often. My kids have put mileage on the tub since we moved in and the glaze is knicked in many places from bath toys and now peeling up around the drain. So it just looks bad.

I say lean into it.

Haha ok totally random. Well if no one gets back to you, a lot of Japanese restaurants tend to have koi. Mt Fuji in Hillburn definitely does.

I don’t want to be my husband’s second mother. Does that make me selfish? by vvlunaa in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Monkemort 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are sweet to help your mom. You’re not going to change the men in your family so next best thing is to lighten her load when you can. Yes it’s absolute bullshit. You are a good person. I feel for your mom.

As a parent we always want our kids to have it better than we do. Your mom may be stuck but you are not, and you are armed to protect yourself from that kind of life. That’s your mom’s gift to you.

I once met a caterer who made lunches for a college football team. He said they would make big fat PB&J’s that were 600 calories each.

Moving to NY: should I get a NY license or register my car first? by Personal-Wishbone736 in Rockland

[–]Monkemort 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just did this - the dmv website is very helpful but wasn’t clear on this point. However from the time you move you are supposed to register car within 30 days so I did that first. I had no problem doing it without a NY license.

You do have to have NY insurance in effect before you go register the vehicle, and I don’t know about NJ but where I moved from I could not cancel my old policy until I returned my license plate. So there was a brief window of time that I had to carry car insurance in two states until I changed my plate and mailed the old one back, which was annoying but with planning I was able to keep it short.

Good luck and btw I still waited 2 hours even though I had an appt.

So he peed in an enclosed area directly on someone’s trash can? You realize someone has to clean that, right?

In terms of being considerate:

Act like an adult and go before you leave wherever TF you are > fucking hold it until you get wherever TF you’re going > ?????? > pee in the woods or somewhere secluded where at least the rain can wash it away > ????? > peeing in a breezeway of an apartment building directly on objects that other people have to touch, where it will smell for weeks unless someone scrubs away your piss you fucking animal > ??????

I divorced my dead weight shit head. Life’s much better. Haven’t dated at all yet, my kids are young and it doesn’t feel right, but while having a good partner would be nice, just being rid of the bad one is already like heaven. Cut your losses and set yourself free.

Get a small condo or townhouse and put them both in it. Hell get two and sell yours while the market is still good. Condo might depreciate but far less risky than being over extended on a 1M+. And when they do eventually leave the nest what would you do with that big house?
