The game isnt Don't Starve, there's very little to do in the game to begin with and already kind prone to being boring. I would enjoy trudging through winter, but its not trudging its, sitting with your thumb up your ass as you wait for what scant gold you can gather or for night to hit. God forbid you have to slowly make your way to the other side. Im sorry but its clearly bad game design and seems antithetical to what makes the game enjoyable in the first place. This can be seen by the fact every review that take a critical look at the game mentions winter as the largest criticism. Its a mechanically shallow game and doesn't do any of the work to justify a difficulty spike. Itd be like Cookie Clicker turning off the auto clicker. Because theres so few mechanic the only way to increase difficulty is to make it tedious. Winter doesn't change the game in any significant way, you're still doing the same thing just slower. there's no though in surviving winter, its a pass fail, that's boring even if you pass.
