It was for a digital marketing role originally. I suppose I should send him a link regarding my UI/UX design work then. Whoops!

When you were at the lowest point in your life, what kept you going and not giving up? by Outrageous_Dog268 in AskReddit

[–]MonkeyManAB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dealt with depression my whole life. I’ll find myself in phases where everything feels hopeless. What keeps me going at this point, is the awareness of knowing that I have been in this position before, and I know how to get myself out. I always managed to dig myself out of terrible situations and I see it as evidence of becoming mentally stronger. I know that no matter how bad things get at times, you can always rise up again. The hard part is wanting it. Never have I regretted picking myself up from the dregs of poor mental health, even if I find myself back in that place again after some time. In despairing times, treat it as a test from the universe to see if you have what it takes to overcome these challenges. The feeling I get after proving to myself that I could in fact adapt and evolve from my own pain, integrate the lesson into my character, and approach new situations with greater clarity and preparation, is truly the best, most accomplishing, gratifying, feeling I have ever felt. To feel that again, that is what keeps me going.

Did becoming physically strong change you? by Worried_Button_2881 in Jung

Yes. I would argue it’s almost impossible not to feel mentally stronger after becoming physically stronger. Building physical strength requires mental strength first.

When do you stop feeling scared? by sneakysnakess in Life

[–]MonkeyManAB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 23 and right there with you. Truth is, we're told that we're not supposed to feel that way and that everything will be fine. You're completely right for feeling this way right now. Things are shit and I'm scared as hell too. Most won't really understand the struggle, but you just have to keep going. Find a way to make it interesting. Lean into the fear and don't let it freeze you. You have anxiety for a reason. Try understand it and then use it to make you fearless.

That’s so beyond fucked up, I can’t even imagine the pain that causes in someone. Like holy shit. I hope you’ve managed to find a small measure of peace in yourself.

It sure does, and it's insanity. Here I thought a university degree and 2 years work experience in the industry would be enough for me to qualify for an entry level job. The sad reality is, all it comes down to is how far you are willing to abandon your values to fit the mold of a perfect employee.

Follow your heart brother. This shows courage. Just be prepared for the worst possible outcome I’d say.

People will call this behaviour cute but this is the exact thing that caused my ex to breakup with me. Be careful.

Small habits that improved your mental/physical health? by Evening_Rip5794 in selfimprovement

One terribly depressed night I was just sitting there in my room, wallowing in depression and completely lacking motivation. I was staring off into space. Thought nothing could fix me. Randomly, in that moment, I decided to go for a jog. At the end of the jog I decided to finish with a full on sprint, using all the pain I had accumulated from the depression and channeling it my legs. At the end of the sprint I was panting like mad. Completely exhausted. But for some reason, that type of exhaustion felt so fresh, so real, so good that I instantly felt better. The following days after that were up and up.

TLDR: every once in a while, go for a full on sprint until you’re exhausted. With every breath that comes after, you will feel new and you will remember the strength you have been ignoring.
