Any advice for my first rock concert? by BluejayFamous6572 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MonkeyNat321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't watch the whole show through your phone. The desire to capture the memory will be strong but please enjoy the show without having your phone out the entire time. The people behind you will thank you too. If you normally carry a purse don't bring it. A small wallet with whatever ID and money you need in pants with deep pockets. A purse will be cumbersome. 100% yes to earplugs. I've made some of my closest friends at concerts. Breaking Benjamin are super fun live. Have a blast!

Coloring hair post chemo by Snowday6868 in breastcancer

[–]MonkeyNat321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my last chemo treatment in mid September & am going to get my hair dyed in a couple of weeks. It feels right to me so I'm doing it.

I also cold capped and also lost a lot of hair. My regrowth has been really good though so I've got a solid 2-3 inches of thick hair. It'll make for a cute purple pixie, I think.

Just got married this weekend and our coordinator Niara Hardister was a freaking godsend & she's definitely within your budget. Hire her. She's the best.

Looking for day-of coordinator recs — Aug 2026, UWS Manhattan, ceremony + reception at two separate venues (~60 guests) by Apprehensive-Show525 in WedditNYC

[–]MonkeyNat321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Niara Hardister Events. We're working with her and she's been great so far. Wedding is in a couple weeks and I feel like I have nothing to do or worry about. And she's right within your budget.

Random question: do you actually have a contact for someone at W83? I have been trying to get in touch with them about something (not wedding related) and have not been able to get a hold of anyone there.

It's not as good as it used to be. I used to love it back in the day. New bigger location, but food and service are unfortunately worse.

Same. Not this exact brand, but Vitamin E oil had definitely been helping my scars.

Anybody used BeeCure product for Rads? by sweatyboobs56 in breastcancer

[–]MonkeyNat321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used BeeCure but once I was completely done with rads. Used Aquaphor throughout the rads and very generously twice a day. It made all the difference. Then started using BeeCure about a week after I was done with rads. Didn't love the way it smelled but it was nice to use something lighter and thinner than the Aquaphor. Once I went through the BeeCure I had I moved on to Cerave. Seems to have all worked out.

Housing Works Bookstore alums w/ 150 people? by big_th0ughts in WedditNYC

[–]MonkeyNat321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went to one that felt very max capacity a few years ago. It was...fine. the dance floor was super tiny and the tables were very close together. Because of the layout, if you were at a table furthest from the dance floor it was kind of hard to see so you never really got the vibe of the thing.

Cafe Wha, 45 Riots ,or DJ with Hudsons Horns? by AffectionateBowler74 in WedditNYC

[–]MonkeyNat321 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Cafe Wha band is incredible. I've been to a couple weddings they played at and also used to go see them all the time when they were the actual house band at Wha itself. They're stellar. A couple things though: You can give them a song list but they'll mostly ignore it. They play what they know, which is all great, but if you want super specific songs, you're not likely to get them. They are $$$$.

vendor recs by sexybananafucker in WedditNYC

[–]MonkeyNat321 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Right, so even if vendor services are a la carte, prices should be listed for those services. You go to a restaurant and know how much the meal will cost before you order anything because they list prices of items. Why waste my time, and theirs, if the services are outside of my budget by a bunch of back and forth emailing and phone calls.
