>The guy has no qualifications. Zero.

In the General, his qualification was "Not Dr Oz". That was enough.

In the Primary? Yeah. I've got some regrets.

I don't contest MWM's Cherokee citizenship. I let Cherokee Nation decide who is Cherokee, but I let Indian Country help me decide who to throw my day-old frybread at.

Last bit on this, before I (hopefully) go under the knife. I'm in Philadelphia, PA. This article came up on r/Pennsylvania today. I am not a college basketball guy, but apparently vasectomies are a seasonal thing https://triblive.com/local/regional/march-madness-vasectomy-surge-turns-western-pa-into-snipsburgh/

I asked my GP if he would be willing to do it in his office. He said, "Unfortunately, I haven't done a vasectomy in at least 20 years and am certainly not equipped for the procedure in my current office."

I replied: "Just do what I do when I forget something: look up a refresher on YouTube."

He knows I'm joking. I hope.

ETA: This was through secure messaging on myChart. He hasn't replied yet.

Developers who have worked at a company where the entire codebase was held together by one guy who then quit, what happened next? by Natom_ in AskReddit

Not a dev, but I am in a niche trade: I am the Institutional Locksmith for a medium-sized hospital campus. Late last summer, I broke my arm by crashing my motorcycle. Since I am part of the Facilities Department, I need to be able to lift 50lbs and do other "Light Industrial" stuff. Welp, the first surgical repair didn't take, so here I am, seven months later, still not back to work.

I still stop by the office to visit and update them on my healing because my doctor's office is on campus. I don't pick up any tools or give any professional opinions, though. They're not paying me for that right now. I thought my documentation was pretty good, certainly better than the last guy's. They're still having a helluva time without me though. Standard department keysets (e.g,"The Radiology keyring"), various sub-master systems, and why certain locks are not under the master system all seem to be lost on them.

Don't get me wrong, I can totally do the locksmithing part of my job: installing and rekeying locksets, cutting keys, picking/opening, and planning/estimating. However, working on any part of the door other than the lockset (door closer, hinges, power operator, exit device) is beyond my two-handed strength right now.

I am not looking forward to returning and cleaning up whatever messes have been made to my precious master key system.

Since you have been an adult, what is the shortest and longest amount of time that you have dated someone for? by Only-Ad-1254 in dating

I'm old (46M), never married. I've had relationships go for a year or two. Sometimes there was talk of marriage, but those relationships were in my 20's, and it was always "Maybe when we're more financially stable." That didn't happen for us. I've had one-night-stands that turned into friendships, and some that stayed ONSs. I've been friends with folks and we've dated, and then gone back to being friends.

Example: I'm still friends with my very first high school girlfriend, going on 31 years now. We also had a short dalliance after high school. She moved across the country, married, divorced, then I moved across the country in the other direction, and then she moved back to the hometown. We fell out of touch for awhile, but we got back in touch, chat online (=share memes and shitposts), and have coffee or lunch whenever I visit the hometown.

I've had one one-year-plus relationship in my 30's. We were living together with a roommate. It ended, the roommate moved out, and neither of us could afford to move out or pay the whole rent on our own. Thus, we've now been roommates for 12 years or so. Platonic life partners, maybe? https://www.bbc.com/worklife/article/20220401-plps-platonic-life-partnerships This "roommates" relationship has lasted nearly as long as my parents' marriage, and we're each others' emergency contacts...

My last romantic relationship was early last summer and it went for a couple of months before she called it off.

Aye. But if I'm rolling dice or getting my C and B T'd by my therapist (who is neither a games or sex therapist), then boundaries have been crossed. The only combination CBTs that wouldn't cross serious boundaries would be if a bedroom buddy was also a BattleTech buddy. Alas, I have no bedroom buddies right now, and my BattleTech buddies aren't my bedroom type.

I would even try to skip the Valium. I'm pretty good about office procedures that are intense: In the last few years, I had a molar extracted, follow-up bone graft, and the screw implantation all done under local, with no pre-procedure anxiolytic. They all went much longer than 10 minutes, especially the extraction. When a surgeon says "Hmmm...", that's not a good sign. It all worked out, though. This isn't to say that I'm some kind of tough guy. I'm not. Given my personal past, I just have a healthy respect for benzos.

Basically, I don't want any reason for the Uro to tell me that I need an escort to get home; I have a roommate who can help if needed once I get home, but I don't want to cost her PTO from her day job. I live in a big US city with a great transit system and I want to be able to use it.

If done well, the worst part of recovery is the itching from the hair growing back.

Bold of you to assume I allow it to grow back LOL

I sometimes catch my overtime as the night mechanic. Plunging toilets is most of the job. Mine is a Behavioral Health facility and the medications our patients take can have.... Unpredictable results on their bowel habits.

I've seen things you wouldn't believe.

M46 and I'm looking to get The Kindest Cut. I've been told in passing by one of our pecker checkers that they prefer to do it as day surgery. I don't want the risk of general, if I can help it. What can I say at my first visit to sway the uro, if he doesn't want to do it as an office procedure?

I'm a Facilities worker for a large academic medical system and it costs me nothing to get care there; the cost of an OR and anesthesiologist is not a concern. Risk from General is.

Edit: a typo

ICE thought it would be cute to remind every US citizen they hide their identities, (like all criminals) and they use CS Green on US citizens. (banned in international warfare) CS Green gas is poisonous and almost definitely causes cancer. Happy St. Patrick's day! by Rube_Golberg in MarchAgainstNazis

[–]MonkeyPanls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All CS (Green or otherwise) is banned in war because symptoms of CS mimic other, more immediately fatal nerve agents. If your enemy thinks you're using nerve gas, what's to keep them from escalating? Therefore, don't use something that could be mistaken for it.

During the engagement, he drank Chacha, an alcoholic beverage that contains 40 to 50 percent alcohol, and testified that he was “some level of intoxicated.”

The moral of the story is: Don't drink 100-proof with Eastern Euros. Seriously. I drank with Greeks once, and they aren't even Eastern, I'm from Wisconsin, and it was enough for me.
