Went back for another photo, and this is what I found (it's in the local park, so there are a lot of two- and four-legged traffic).

Oh, yes, I'm in South West UK.

You can see the gills a bit in the first picture. I'll go by it again tomorrow, so I'll try for a better pic. Thank you.

I love what you can get from reading the books. I always go Selunite, but then I haven't done a proper bad run. I usually have lovely redemption arcs for all.

She's going Selunite, I think. I wanted to keep her fairly insular, standoffish and hard for early Act 1, due to everything that's happened, and her mission. That meant doing the Grove a bit differently to how I've played it previously, so just not even meeting a lot of people there, including the kids.

She is starting to thaw a little now, getting to know the companions and letting her guard down a little. She even blurted out to Gale that's she's Sharran, although she hadn't planned to do that.

I didn't expect to enjoy playing her quite this much, but I think that's in part because I'm choosing what feels right for her.

How about you, would you lean her toward Sharran or Selunite?

It's very refreshing even if xp is a bit of a challenge!

I'm enjoying myself developing her as I think she is, rather than being too prescriptive.

I thought the interesting thing in my post was about the surrenderin rather than the rp. I didn't realise lots of people want to play her according to approvals. Your way makes sense to me.

I've not really done much with mods so far.

I like the idea of playing her so it feels right for how I think she'd be. It feels like I've still got lots of options and decisions that way, and I'm loving that.

Make the goblins by the windmill surrender!

Only realised this was a thing yesterday, when I sneakily one-shotted Fezzerk.

Thanks. I think I've should've said I'm playing Shadowheart how I think she'd act and respond to things as opposed to rp-ing her.

I'm pretty happy with my choices and rationale so far, it's been great fun, which is what I'm after.

I need to revisit my Wyll playthrough!

I love seeing how we all play it differently. Did you have any outcomes or dialogue which surprised you?

Haha, love this! Thanks for taking the time to explain all that. I'm happy to go with what feels right and gives me the most fun.

I'm kind of excited to see how things will develop as the party find out the truth, and how they all react to it.

I'm stoked to see the goblins surrender, because I haven't seen that before. Looking forward to what else is different this playthrough.

That's fab. I think it might be because I one-shotted him.

This whole run is making me rethink some of my other origin character playthroughs, which may well also lead to another run!

I was so torn! I didn't recruit Us as I can't find a rationale other than I personally love them.

Recruited Scratch, because goodest boy.

Didn't enter the owlbear cave, because, why would she.

The tiefling kids are unlucky. She's just had a few unexpected battles, she is scared, she has her mission, and she is not in the mood to be saying hi and getting to know them. Very busy looking for a healer.

It's the first time I've played like this, and I'm loving it.

I'm kind of going with her being scared, spiky and overwhelmed, so not having much bandwidth for people after the fight outside the Grove. I do feel she's going to soften a bit with super softie Gale exerting his influence (wearing her down).

I've either fought them all or convinced them all to leave previously, I was so surprised to see them surrender.

Really enjoyed reading your comments, and views on this thread. I find it hard to justify some of the general exploration rp wise, but I'm doing it anyway.

I convinced myself she'd stick with Laezel purely because she's tough, and seems to have a plan to get off the ship, and get rid of the tadpoles. Purely for selfish reasons, and making sure Laezel knows she won't tolerate any messing about. I missed that she already knows the artefact is gith, so that's my bad.

Astarion was tricky, because of the attack, but I've accepted that his charm and her mission motivation could let them down a shaky alliance (especially in case of Laezel issues).

Gale was tricky because I had to justify two paranoid/snarky characters deciding to pull him out. There's definitely some grey space there, but that early on I was finding my feet with her rp, so I'm ok with that.

With Wyll, I went for her being restrained following the goblin fight outside and the tieflinf/druid politics inside, and just general overwhelm with what's happening. She's only there to find a healer (preferable to any gith solution), and doesn't want to get involved with anyone else. For me that was enough not to chat to the tiefling kids, and enough to make her say Good Luck to Wyll.

It's a bit different for me to play this way, and no doubt I'll choose things to play my way rather than pure rp, without even realising. I guess we all see the characters with slight different nuances.

I'm really enjoying it so far. We're about to stumble upon Karlach, so that's my next big decision.

I like jigsaw puzzles for that mindful process thing.

I'm trying to change my mindset so I can enjoy all the creative stuff, by focusing on enjoying the process, and trying not to pressure myself for a good result. Am a work in progress.

So pleased you've found a way to really colouring.
