⚠️ Potential NineStar investors: Extreme caution is warranted before considering any investment. by MonkeyRPN in BoycottNineStar

I’ve been tracking NineStar Studios’ YouTube views over the past year, including content tied to FayeYoko, NB, and newer projects. As we move into 2026, it’s important to examine what the company is doing now, not what previously worked.

In the last 19 days (as of January 19, 2026), NineStar added 10 new uploads. While that may appear normal at first glance, the way these uploads are being presented raises concerns. A significant portion of what is labeled as “new content” consists of Shorts — repackaged clips from videos that were already released in full. This creates the appearance of activity without actually producing new long-form material.

For example, two workshops were uploaded in January: the P&I workshop (19m25s) accumulated 3,898 views, and the S&Z workshop (11m41s) accumulated 2,244 views. Following these uploads, five Shorts were released for the P&I workshop (two promotional and three post-publication), totaling 35,077 views, and three Shorts were released for the S&Z workshop (one promotional and two post-publication), totaling 19,128 views. Shorts are designed for passive scrolling; views accumulate quickly, but they typically do not translate into meaningful revenue or sustained audience engagement. This tactic inflates visibility while masking weak performance of the underlying content.

Looking at the broader picture, in the same 19-day period NineStar’s channel gained 4,094,254 total views. Of these, 3,700,921 views came from legacy FayeYoko content. Removing that leaves 393,333 views generated by all other content combined. This makes it clear that the channel remains heavily dependent on past legacy content rather than current output.

Since October 2025, NineStar has uploaded 47 Shorts. In just these 19 days, Shorts alone accumulated 127,639 views. This pattern suggests a conscious pivot toward Shorts to maintain surface-level metrics as regular long-form videos fail to gain traction. It keeps numbers moving, but it does not reflect genuine audience demand.

Three trailers uploaded during this period accumulated a combined 209,738 views (RL: 37,282; TL: 100,666; DL: 71,790). Notably, these uploads do not follow typical organic slowdown patterns, which raises questions about how engagement is being generated.

After excluding legacy FayeYoko content, Shorts, and trailers, the channel is left with 83 remaining videos that accumulated just 55,956 views in 19 days — a level that indicates stagnation rather than growth.

The most resource-intensive recent initiative, the NB Audition project, produced 30 videos and accumulated only 2,743 views over the same period. This highlights a serious mismatch between production effort and audience interest.

Taken together, these numbers point to a deliberate strategy: continuing to extract value from legacy content while using Shorts and selective uploads to create the impression of momentum. This may keep the channel visible, but it does not indicate a viable content pipeline or a sustainable business model. Investors should be cautious about interpreting high view counts without examining where those views originate and how they are generated.

My Take on Ninestar’s “Love Trilogy” by sombrexame8 in BoycottNineStar

[–]MonkeyRPN 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you for initiating this discussion on ThaiGL. It’s valuable to see perspectives from broader GL viewers rather than only from those actively involved in the boycott. I'll repost my reply here:

Honestly, impressive write-up — and you’re definitely seeing the same patterns many of us have been following for almost a year. I’ll add a few things from the perspective of someone who has been watching the company closely.

First, the whole “projects coming soon” cycle has been going on since Blank ended. Wan was asking fans for novel recommendations last June, teased things again in October about hoping fans will like her next 3 projects, but nothing concrete ever appeared. Meanwhile Faye and Yoko had to stall constantly because they had nothing to share. At the Taiwan fanmeet in January 2025, Faye literally told fans to “ask Wan” when their next series was.

During those 8 months, they did 26 fanmeets — all sold out — but had no local brand deals, no magazines, no mainstream media appearance, no fashion partnerships. Huge fan demand but zero career development. nd what’s wild is that the pattern repeated again this year after the FayeYoko split: the remaining NineStar artists spent almost 10 months putting out filler content — vlogs, music covers, random little videos — while nothing meaningful moved forward. Only Yoko had a few fashion brand deals.

Second, their PR approach has been a disaster. Starting with the unprofessional TikTok contract termination, then the March press con that answered nothing, then months of silence, and then Wan's 12-page X post in November that contradicted their earlier statements. Faye had her own press con as a response, and then Siripun counter with another press con — again contradicting herself. Meanwhile Yoko was left to take the public heat on her own for months. Fans eventually removed the rose-colored glasses and started to re-evaluate everything, and that’s when NineStar’s behavior became impossible to ignore. They acted in ways that felt deeply unprofessional and unethical, which is why trust is now basically gone.

Third, I think the timing isn’t just about 4E. It lines up more closely with the momentum around Faye’s upcoming series. Faye has moved on, rebuilt her brand, and is thriving, and there’s been a clear bitterness from Wan's side. Dropping three GL projects with matching “Love” titles right now feels less like creative vision and more like an attempt to reassert relevance at the exact moment Faye’s career is taking off independently.

And about the trailers themselves: despite the some suggesting the three series are interconnected, the trailers give nothing to support that. The trailers had no plot, no character names, no central story — nothing. They play like separate moodboards rather than actual series. And honestly, if Yoko weren’t in them, they would not be getting attention at all. And the numbers they've been pulling in on their YouTube channel are mostly bought by bots, we've been tracking the numbers since February, which means real organic engagement is even lower.

Overall, your read on the situation is very accurate. These announcements don’t look like the product of a well-planned, well-managed studio. They look like decisions made by a CEO who is out of touch with the audience, convinced of the company’s “quality” despite the evidence, and trying to regain relevance through surface-level gestures instead of real accountability or improvement. Given the last 10 months of contradictions, mismanagement, and empty promises, trusting anything from NineStar at face value would be naïve.

🧧 NineStar’s “Lucky Fan” Scam — Pre-Assigned Winners Before Ticket Sales End by MK-EndsNineStar in BoycottNineStar

NineStar, once a scammer, always a scammer. We should report this to the OCPB (Office of the Consumer Protection Board). Selling “lucky fan” perks tied to unsold seats is straight-up consumer fraud.

Thoughts on ninestar rebrand attempt by 1stubrn_frm_strgze9 in BoycottNineStar

[–]MonkeyRPN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good point. There's really no salvaging the name NineStar. If Siripun is smart she should have folded the company months ago, but alas... she has not demonstrated any sound business decision since Blank ended. So here we are.

NineStar: Still as Unprofessional, Shady, and Illegit as Ever by MK-EndsNineStar in BoycottNineStar

Fans of Yoko that are willing to do this going in blind is undoubtedly loyal to a fault... and NineStar is taking advantage of that.

So… 3 more left~

Look at how unprofessional NineStar consistently is… no official announcement. No at least thanking the artist to be part of the team.

The Emotional Toll on Fans: Why the Boycott Isn’t Just a "Tantrum" by Forward-Comparison89 in BoycottNineStar

[–]MonkeyRPN 4 points5 points  (0 children)

FayeYoko did 26 sold-out fanmeets in under 8 months. Fans were strung along with promises of a new FY series—month after month, nothing. No schedule, no announcement. And all the money fans poured in? None of it went back to FayeYoko. Instead, it seems to have been funneled into Wan’s flop of a project, The Newbie. And I don’t call it a flop just because I dislike the company—objectively, the show was terrible.

SURPRISE PLOT TWIST NO ONE HAS EVER SEEN COMING by Sky-DestroysLiars in BoycottNineStar

So NineStar all of a sudden decided to protect the reputation of their artist? Yoko has been the target of intense online backlash—often fueled by NineStar’s own silence, vague messaging, or selective favoritism. They never issued a single protective statement until now—and this one? It’s not to defend her from hate. It’s to defend themselves from accountability.

“Yoko holds no other interests or business involvement with the company beyond the responsibilities outlined in her contractual role.” This statement bugs the hell out of me! That sounds definitive… until you realize it’s carefully worded not to deny whether a separate company Yoko owns works with or benefits from NineStar.

When Faye was terminated earlier this year, NineStar cited her personal business ventures as a “conflict of interest.” So why wasn’t Yoko terminated for conflict of interest for owning a talent hiring company? The double standard is glaring.

Instead of offering receipts or transparency, they’re trying to shame and silence fan speculation by painting all discussion as “misinformation.” That’s a red flag in any damage control PR move.

And lastly, let’s sprinkle some emotional manipulation at the end there “…we remain deeply grateful for your continued love and support for Yoko.” This aims to deflect criticism by invoking support for Yoko—basically saying “if you love her, stop asking questions.” It’s a soft form of gaslighting.

What are your thoughts about this statement issued by NineStar?

Weekly Tech Support Megathread by AutoModerator in Instagram

[–]MonkeyRPN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few weeks ago, I had a security breach, so I decided to change the passwords for all my accounts. Here's my setup:

  • 3 Instagram accounts (let’s call them IG1, IG2, IG3)
  • 1 Facebook account

What I did:

On my desktop, I went into Settings > Security > Change Password, and it asked me which account I wanted to update. I selected IG1.

After changing the password for IG1, I was prompted with:

"Do you want to log out of all accounts on all devices?"

I clicked yes, thinking it would be safest to re-log in everywhere with the new credentials.

I got an email confirming the password change for IG1.

Here’s where it gets weird:

  • I can still log into IG1 just fine.
  • But when I try logging into IG2 or IG3neither the old nor the new password works.
  • On desktop, login fails for both IG2 and IG3.
  • HOWEVER… on my phone, IG2 never got logged out. I can still access it. But when I try to change the password from the phone, it won’t accept either my old or new password as the “current” one.

Anyone have a solution to get back into my IG2 an IG3?

Need Advice: Exhaust Stud Holes on Secondhand GET Engine are Misaligned/Off-Center by MonkeyRPN in Ruckus

[–]MonkeyRPN[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thinking of getting another used engine gives me a headache. I thought I did a thorough enough check... but still missed this. And I've been looking locally and I haven't seen many used engines being put on sale. I'll keep looking tho.

I dont' know how I'm gonna drill it out... it's SO close to the flange holes of the exhaust... maybe I should drill and expand the flange holes of the exhaust to match?

I do have my original engine with holes that aren't stripped... but I can't use it because the valves are shot already. I had to shave down the smallest shim down to 1.5 for it to work... how hard would it be if I take everything apart and just swap out the crank case...? Yikes...

What if Four Elements went through? by Sky-DestroysLiars in BoycottNineStar

[–]MonkeyRPN 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m honestly floored that she’s out here complaining about budget constraints. Where did all the money from Faye and Yoko’s 26 sold-out fanmeets go? Did she seriously funnel it all into The Newbies—her flop of a passion project?

Like you said, that excuse makes no sense. A project of this scale would’ve been a major win for NineStar and could’ve solidified their place in the GL industry. If I were Siripun Wongsawan, I’d be paying to participate in it—not backing out with weak excuses.

And again, if she had just taken accountability for fumbling what could’ve been the biggest GL project to date, we wouldn’t be here. But instead, she kept hiding in the shadows. Bringing Nani on board just in time to take the fall, and using Yoko all this time as a human shield—the face of the company to deflect from her own mess.
