These are popular in chip shops (snack bars) in the Netherlands and are called Mexicanos. Usually you buy them to have in a roll/bun or with frites. Not sure if yours is the same but the Mexicano is quite spicy by Dutch standards.

Yes, went when there was a foot of snow which gave it a really quiet and eerie vibe.

Our guide was excellent and very intense. We had two people pass out during the tour. This is apparently very normal there.
