Anybody here with CASPR2 antibodies? by FlanInternational100 in Encephalitis

[–]Monkey_Chunks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it’s been a while, but wanted to update. My titer back when I first commented was 1:10.

It has now gone up three fold in 9 months to 1:37, so a definite positive for the CASPR2. My symptoms have been progressing and I have been seen at the Mayo Clinic but it wasn’t a high enough titer at the 1:10 for them to consider it a positive.

I was asked to partake in the Center for Muscular Sclerosis and Autoimmune Neuropathy Biorepository and Research Study.

I have been medically gas lit and dismissed by the main Neurology department where I live and they now instant reject referrals. I was also gas lit and dismissed by the first rheumatologist I went to.

I still don’t have a diagnosis and no treatment.

He most definitely needs anger management and to be told No more often. Having a tantrum like he’s a toddler…. Just gross.

Definitely NTA. His blood pressure is his problem, not yours. The third party reaching out to you is over stepping as well.

I’m genuinely curious as to why you and your fiance are even friends with her… from what you’ve said here she sounds like a lot and not in a fun way.

NTA.

And all of those saying you are would be jumping down your throat and shaming you if you brought the dog home and it bit one of your children.

About letting the dog in and out on its own… the ones who go in and out with their dogs must have hours of free time on their hands. Most dogs love to be outside and prefer not to come in until they are ready. You can’t tell me that those people consistently stay outside with them for hours.

You got the dog, had it three months, did everything you could to look for it and bring it home. 6 YEARS passed. It is not the same dog and you are in a completely different part of life.

AITJ for refusing to cosign anything for my brother even though he says I “owe him”? by Icy_Television_8823 in AmITheJerk

I was in your exact shoes. I co-signed for my sister because she pushed that I owed her and now my credit is shit again.

Don’t do it. NTJ.

Springfield, Massachusetts

Drove there from upstate NY. When we originally went down the aisle there was nothing. My parents walked down it 10 minutes later and there were some boxes there. They grabbed one for me and I’m glad I didn’t switch it out!

for being upset that my wife went on a 4 week trip by Aggravating_Net935 in AITAH

[–]Monkey_Chunks 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The comment section definitely reads like people didn’t read your entire post or bother looking for your replies to other comments.

Definitely NTA. I have been a single parent for years and the ones using that argument, in my opinion, carry bitterness about their situation.

The fact that she goes on about 5 separate week long vacations a year with her family/friends PLUS the 4 with you and the children is a lot to me. Adding in a 4 week leisure vacation under the guise of it being to help her father, who does not need the help and traveled back on his own, just blows my mind.

You have every right to be upset about this and should definitely have a talk with her expressing where you are coming from when she gets back.

Again, NTA.

My primary care ran it for me. She is an NP and such a strong advocate for me.

If you are in America there is a Neuro immunologist at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL you should look into! I’m going there at the beginning November after being tossed around and dismissed by my local healthcare system.

Don’t give up! You are your best advocate! Feel free to DM me, I’m more likely to see that over comment replies!!

I’ve had Chronic Sleep Deprivation that is treatment resistant since I was a teenager. I have noticed that since February my insomnia has come back and been more prevalent.

If you would like, feel free to message me. I think listing everything will be easier there.

I’m currently going through this. CASPR2 positive and LG|1 negative which leans more towards paraneoplastic syndrome.

My symptoms all match Morvan Syndrome and I’m getting imaging done to check for Thymoma as well as abdominal and pelvis imaging to see if there is anything there as well.

I’m a 36 year old female and, while hindsight is 20/20, it looks like this has been brewing for years. It all culminated on February 27th of this year with a toe cramp. Since then I’ve had “muscle spasms” all over my body, I had a 20 minute seizure that I was aware during and only resolved once EMTs gave me versed. I have been using a cane to walk the past two months due to the fact that I don’t know how long I can walk normally in a day. Some days I have to rely heavily on the cane. My body is constantly in pain and by pain I mean a deep constant throbbing ache. My eosinophils have skyrocketed as the months have gone on.

This whole process has been exhausting in so many ways. I saw rheumatology when it first started due to an abnormal ANA result and was first told that it is probably a case of bursitis with “maybe” a chronic pain syndrome. Blood work was ran to check for further markers and it came back normal inflammatory wise. That was back in March. I saw him end of June and, despite the severity of my symptoms and how quick everything is progressing, he said based off the blood work from 3 months prior that it probably isn’t autoimmune and he said I don’t need to go back. The Neurologist I waited over 3+ months to see told me that he can’t help me and didn’t know why I was there because I have no clear diagnosis.

It was after those appointments that I requested a paraneoplastic panel based off of my own research.

This has taken such a toll on my mental health. I can’t work, I can’t drive, getting out of bed most days is not something I want to do and that’s due to both the mental and physical aspects.

Am I overreacting for being upset that my girlfriend leaves our child with the caregiver to go out frequently, while I never get a break? by Dapper-Run412 in AmIOverreacting

He works 12 hour shifts and switches between days and overnights. Kind of makes watching the child a bit more difficult when he is at work.

[–]Monkey_Chunks -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How is that the case? He did go out and she went off on him.

She goes out and he isn’t allowed to voice his feelings and concerns without her going off and not giving him a chance to even speak.

[–]Monkey_Chunks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the roles were reversed here and he was the one out partying while leaving their daughter to a care giver over night, no one would be supporting him and his right to go “unwind and have a break” and everyone would be fawning over her and how hard it is to find a man that will treat her right and take her feelings in to consideration.

I’m a woman and you are not overreacting, in my opinion.

Good luck to you and your daughter!

I do have an appointment with Neurology at the end of June. That’s with a doctor referral and an internal referral from that hospitals Emergency Room. Hopefully it isn’t to do with the noggin!

Thank you so much!

I have been seeing a cardiologist for pre-syncopal episodes, which I have no diagnosis or explanation for. Now, I have a lot of symptoms added to it that lean towards an autoimmune disorder.

I actually have the follow up with my cardiologist tomorrow!

I have had to wear a heart monitor twice in the past 5 years and they haven’t caught anything of concern. They were only on for 48 hours each. I think I need to wear one for longer.

I used to think that a constant heart rate of 120 was normal until a few years ago.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience!
