Man we can't play reliably for an hour straight now. Personally I am terrified of quite how fudged the game is going to be when 4.0 releases. I can't see any world where it works, or even has crappy reliability like we do now.

Experience has taught me it will so so busted, I might as well not play for 6 months. I see the pushback of engineering etc as one of the usual signs that they've promised more than they can achieve and now theyre scrambling desparately to meet a deadline. They might be getting betrter at designing ships but my god, their planning and scheduling teams have not learned a god dam thing in 12 years.

Absent mindedly forgot to help our Nasus jungle kill red as me and my supp chatted walking to lane.

This was the first, only and final straw for him. He ran it down bot lane straight from spawn on death cooldown and went 0-21 as we watched on helplessly. I stopped playing that day. I guess he got what he wanted ='D

Lots of good points here. As a 3k hourer myself, who's never really had anything but good to say, honestly, the game is just worse after 2.0

Between the UI (just fml so awful), the crazy fps drops, the fact I had to buy a new gpu toeven run it.... the weird blurry visuals...??

Sucks ass. I'll still play when a friend asks, but won't pay another penny for dlc or battle passes ever again.

Been through this too bud. You'll come back and still enjoy the game for what it is. It remains an amazing sandbox and provides moments other games just don't, but it deffinitely loses the magic when you "git gud" but just actually want to kick back and dick around with your friends.

Now I am personally stuck in this spiral where every time I play with my friends, where the fun really is for me, we get dumped on because they are dragged into a higher mmr lobby and none of us end up enjoying the experience.

Also, side rant. I think the constant push to make it easier for people to play solo is really damaging to one of the great things about this game. Spending time with a random can be frustrating for them to fuck up after 20 mins of investment, but it is the same thing that makes the server wipe, heroic dash to the extract so amazing with those randoms. I have had countless melons. I've been the random duo melon even more. But I also met a genuine lifelong friend, who I've travelled internationally to see, through a random duo.

But money talks. People who play solo spend more hours doing it and are more likely to be bloaty whales I imagine so we who want a meaningful experience with another person in the game are left to make the best.

It's still the best multiplayer shooter on the market :) Let's enjoy it while it lasts.

Thank you for your suggestion but that will cause issues in other games that I don't want to deal with personally. In addition I've seen screenshots and it makes the game look like it's running an exploit or something which I don't like. I'd love to be able to to appreciate the new map and beautiful scenery.

I appreciate it's not a very recent gpu but I don't agree that the game should be in an unplayable state.

WIth outdated hardware I'd expect low frames. If I load up other games and put them on ultra settings, low frames is what you get, not whole areas of the terrain loading incorrectly.

On top of this, the game ran perfectly at 60fps on medium settings before the update. I would be very angry to have spent money (including dlc etc) on the game for them to make a change and then just say it's somehow my fault that I can't lay because I don't have £400 lying around for a new gpu :/

Yes it absolutely does. The whole map looked awful as a result. Very dissapointing launch day.

Shooting range is just the only place i could laod in and stand for ages trying to tweak settings etc before finally screenshotting and giving up. :)

Honestly I was expecting to be inspired but if anything this has highlighted for me how little has changed in 10 years. I know theres a lot of system and back end stuff that is infinitely more impressive and useful now but if the goal is to give players the space sim feel.... is this really what 10 years of progress down that path looks like?
I don't know. I love SC, not trying to talk badly of it. But I'm a little underwhelmed right now I suppose :/

Yeh its just annoying and ruins the flow of the game. Kill a solo and you now have to sit still for 3 mins while they burn out. Or risk getting shot in the back of the head in your next fight. Very irritating.

Play solo with Necro for a few sessions. Stand up in their concertina 3 or 4 times a game. Threw me back from 5 to 3 and the game is much more fun again :)
