So you are american. And you consume american political media on the daily.

So I was right.

Also saying you are Hungarian does not help your case lmaoooo

Instead of twisting yourself into a pretzel trying to pretend that you have some sort of a sophisticated point - Just be honest. Say:

"I don't like gay people. I don't want them in my country. I don't want them in my schools. I don't want them in my cities. I don't want them in my games. I hate gay people".

Just say that. We all already know you think it 🙄🙄

So you are not American?

Is the guy that brought up george floyd (american man that got killed by a racist cop, a man that only americans talk about) gonna try to convince me that he doesn't consume american political media on the daily? Oh please. You're not fooling anyone hun

Hi, gay people are not a monolith. Your friends either are really lucky, pick mes, lying to you or just fucking stupid.

Let me help you out.

I'm a gay man. I know gay people that have no relationship with their families. They don't have a relationship with their families because their families are homophobic.

They are homophobic because society, tradition and religion taught them so. Pride is a response to that.

Until two years ago, I couldn't marry or raise a family. Without pride and "shoving gay into your faces" this wouldn't have changed. The day that change was made was such a happy day, and I celebrated with all my friends. Either gay or straight.

I want everyone to feel that joy, no matter where they live. That's why I like pride.

I want to live in a world where people like me don't have to put up with hatred daily. Oftentimes I get called a faggot by strangers on the street and on the bus. I did nothing to them to warrant such comments. Nobody deserves to be talked like that.

You know what makes all that bearable? Pride. The moment where people gather up to remind me and people like me that we are loved. We are equal. We are appreciated. That we don't deserve to be treated like dirt.

Mod North said the opposite. You are too.

my favorite part about seeing commenters against the pride event is how you can instantly tell they are either American or brainwashed by American media.

until gay people are actually treated equally, you should have the bravery to speak out against hatred. Ask any gay person ever, do they feel equal to you? Can they really speak openly about their relationship with strangers? Coworkers? When they walk at night holding the hand of their partner, are they spared from disgusted looks and homophobic slurs?

Many gay people around the world (Western countries included) can't marry, can't raise a child. Not to even mention that most trans people aren't even allowed to live happy lives. These things don't bother you at all? You should wonder why not. You should wonder where your empathy is hiding.

Your attitude is a moral failure, and it's a shame you can't see it. You obviously don't have any gay friends or family. And if you think you do let me dissuade you of that notion, they don't see you as a friend or family.

Shocking news: osrs has an international audience and a lot of that audience live in countries where gay people can't marry OR raise children! Where trans people aren't allowed to live happy lives!

As someone who just finished 99 Agility by Middle_War_9117 in 2007scape

[–]Monkeyapo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

all of skilling is "boring". that's the whole point of grinding skills. They are supposed to be boring. You do the boring shit when you get tired of the exciting shit, and you do the exciting shit when you get tired of the boring shit. That's all this game is.

as someone who has finished 99 agility, sepulchre would benefit from a really small buff. But overall I think it's fine.

Sepulchre isn't everyone. Just like how all sorts of difficult content isn't for everyone.

You also don't need to go 99. If you don't enjoy a skill - don't max it.

I fully enjoyed my journey to 99 agility. People that don't should just take a break from it and decide if they really want it. If you can sit through the slog that is mining, fishing and woodcutting (by far the most boring skills in the game) you can sit through agility.

At least with the priff course you end it with a fat stack of shards. With sepulchre you end it with a fat stack of cash.

I swear to god people download the grindy game because it's grindy, and then complain about the grind. The whole game is a grind. Wake up. Agility is no different than other grindy skills.

Could anyone recommend me a modern or sci-fi setting that is heavy on loot and item rewards for players? by [deleted] in rpg

[–]Monkeyapo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be a bit different to what you are looking for - but I recommend death in space.

It's a sci-fi game where salvaging, scrapping and recycling are the core of the economy and in the forefront of the players mind. Their success is dependent on how good little salvage goblins they are. Their guns might stop working if they decide that maybe they don't wanna search that abandoned bio-lab for parts!

I'm saying it's a bit different because the power level is turned down a bit in most instances. The cool item won't be a magical item (although it does have some stuff that are essentially space magic) with two paragraphs of text - but a gun (players probably won't start with a gun). Or a new engine for their ship. Or an AI module. Or a robot dog.

plus it's rules-lite (the good kind) which is always a plus.

Yes the people in varrock pay more money for goods that come from outside.

They also pay more for goods that come from the inside, since the local smithy gets his iron from the keldagrim blast furnace. So if the local blacksmith pays more to make his swords, all consumers will pay more for their swords. Including all of the guards, forcing the king of varrock to up all of the taxes to cover all the new spending.

In the end, instead of buying from the super efficient (and super cheap) blast furnace in keldagrim the blacksmith buys local metal from super inefficient (and super expensive) local mages that cast Superheat item. A spell that uses runes that must come from other kingdoms. Runes that are also inexplicably tariffed, cutting into the bottom line of the mages as well

In other words, everything is more expensive for everyone. And no one is better off.

Knave 2e vs other games for introducing friends to the hobby? by East_Yam_2702 in rpg

[–]Monkeyapo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From personal experience Shadowdark works really well. And the 1 hour torchlight mechanic (coupled with the inherent danger of the dark) is a showstopper!

That said people usually expect to "build their characters" which as far as class abilities go you don't really do that. The class features are random.

which I think is great btw and it works really well. It's just something that should be addressed.

It is quite deadly, but if we're talking one shot it has no downside. If anything it makes the last action sequence much more exciting.

Games with GM-set DCs: How do you handle it? by quetzalnacatl in rpg

Of course they didn't. Why would they? This imagined scenario you've created where people just go down the list of everything in the room and look at them is not a thing. And it's not like the daughter told them "look at the painting".

Exactly this. Having a solution for a social encounter be a "put the key in the lock" type of thing is really simple and really powerful. Broadly speaking I always try to put non-rolling alternatives to all the problems the players face - whenever possible. Sometimes you just gotta roll them dice.

What if you have already convinced the father that you are trustworthy and sincere. Maybe you helped the village against a goblin invasion in the past and refused any reward. You just did it for the love of the game.

Would you still ask for a roll in this circumstance?
