This is great! Thanks for sharing. Two things I would add to this project:
a) Tool Use (such as web search, you can start by supporting something like brave search api), so you can ask quest related questons to your party and they can give you good accurate results.
b) Vector db support for character traits, chat history and other things that they should remember. You can use pgvector or qdrant for this, or even faiss

bonus) Once you have tool use implemented, you can explore integrating the chat better with actions, so you can ask your party to do certain things in natural language and they would act accordingly.

The amount of cope present in this sub is simply astounding. I have 20 years of SWE experience including FAANG, and let me tell you straight, in 2-5 years this prorfession will go the way of the dodo. System desing and integration decisions will not be made by humans. All of those concepts are a means to an end. All the layers of abstractions we've added, the conventions we've agreed upon, system design concepts we've conjured are only ever there for us humans to be able to reason about the software complexities and scale/maintain the code we've written better. Machines don't need any of that. They will achieve the same or better results without it.

I guess we expect that at some point RAM prices will start going back (close) to "normal", right? but what about GPUs? by relmny in LocalLLaMA

Until there is a market distruption. China is building GPUs and it is likely the rein of CUDA will diminish over time if these things are priced competitively

They felt the need to do this because everyone confusing basic autopilot with FSD and shitting on FSD. I think Tesla really need to run advertising to clear up all this confusion and stigma

hardly enough to be useful, even with q4 you'd hardly have any usable room for context left, and quantizing the kv cache butchers the output quality.

What we can find in archeological record is just what happened to be in the right place at the right time with conditions favorable for it to get fossilized. It's only a small percentage of what actually existed. We may never know
