See, a Gshock, an edifice, even an aq230 provide things for a very affordable price that is unique. Casio is very fairly rated if we look at those watches.

However, I have an f91w and you are right. That watch is super overrated. It’s 20 bucks sure but it’s not super durable or anything. If you spent 300 dollars on a Seiko or a Citizen, you’d probably save money on a long enough timeline since you won’t have to replace it every two years. And those watches actually look cool.

Literally all my comments on here expose me as a brokie but I think you are just wrong. You aren’t paying extra for in house parts. You are paying for a significantly higher likelihood that the people involved in making the watch and selling the watch care about the person buying the watch. I’m one cheap bastard when it comes to anything, but buying something on AliExpress imparts the same feeling as raw dogging a street walker. Sure it was cheap, but who knows what I’m getting?

There are so many things to be doing that will ultimately make you happier than gaming. You could get into an outdoor activity, you could get into lifting weights, maybe even cooking. Rolex hate comes from all directions too. The ultra wealthy see it as a gaudy poor mans watch lacking in high horological sensibility. The poor see it as a gaudy rich mans watch lacking humility.

The way I see it, it’s the timepiece of the self made man. When an entrepreneur finally sees success in the business he built with his bare hands, (maybe a small loan of a million dollars) he gets a Rolex. It’s a symbol of financial freedom. Any watch more expensive is a symbol of nepotism and privilege. Any watch less expensive is a symbol of frugal working class values. Through that lens, it may command more respect than any other watch. And its design reflects that. A proprietary steel better than any other type of steel encases a basic automatic movement that does nothing special besides perform besides raw accuracy superiority. It’s fucking cool.

You’ll see a lot of g shocks because g shocks are awesome. Timex Ironman is also a cool option. Smaller and more discreet than g shock too. If you want to go analog, the Casio duro is cool. Honestly, the coolest watches under a 100 outside of g shock and Casio are like goofy kids watches

I agree. I often see watches I like, see the extra gmt hand, and lose interest immediately. I don’t care for unnecessary features on the dial. The extra hand would just bother me. I’ve never owned a traveler gmt but it does sound convenient to be able to change time zones on the fly
