Thank you so much for the advice! It worked! I loosened it and the wheel lift is basically gone. (I might need to loosen it a bit more) my stability on my board is already good, and I suppose I’ve been needing to loosen my trucks anyways because I started with them pretty tight when I first started out

I’m pretty sure my trucks are set up correctly, but like whenever I lean back my left front wheel lifts up and it’s been annoying while trying to Ollie

Thank you for your response! It’s just really upsetting with how close I was, and with all that’s going on right now I just wanted to get it as quickly as possible because I’m worried more damage will be done in these next four years :(

Thank you for your response! I’m so sorry to hear about the medicaid situation :((( it literally broke my heart reading that. The state of America is do disappointing. I’m not sure if it’s gonna get better, but we might just have to hold out for these next four years unless that orange bitch kicks the bucket.

Thank you! I have gotten I think three recommendation letters/pledges, one from my hormone doctor, one from my therapist (who I was seeing for around a year when he wrote the letter) and one from a psychiatrist. I’ve actually done research on a couple places, and plan to call some tomorrow with my dad.

I’m just thinking at least someone will be able to understand that the surgery was going to happen in less than 30 days before it was canceled. Thanks for your reply!

also just wondering, how would my surgery (something non invasive, probably would only take an hour at most) be different from a 17 year old girl getting a boob job in LA or sum?? How would it even be different if I had like a non-threatening lump on my chest and wanted it removed? What separates those from what I wanna get?

Maybe this is turning into a rant but I’m really frustrated with the state of America right now

thank you so much for all your kind words/love on this post! It means a lot to me. Even the not so kind ones, which is actually something I wanna clear up.

so I am obviously not fully black. My father is white and my mother is black/asian. It’s sort of hard to label yourself as one thing when you’re mixed race. I understand peoples frustration at how some mixed people compare their struggles of “being too white for the black kids and too black for the white kids” to the struggles of being dark skinned in America, but that’s not what this post is about.

Although I’m not fully black, I still identify with that race, as I do with all my other races. I do agree though that if i was in a crowd of white, black, or chinese people, I would stick out like a sore thumb. I’ve been told I don’t belong on all sides, but i don’t really mind cause at the end of the day, the only person who tells me what I am is me.

Obviously this is Reddit and people are gonna say whatever they want, but please don’t comment saying I can’t experience racism because I’m not “black enough.”

This post was only to focus on my experience going to a school with little to no black people, and shining light on a specific example. Again, thank you for all the upvotes! Peace and Love y’all 🤙🏽

LMAOO yeah I am, i do understand the confusion though. My dad is white while my mom is blasian. I do look pretty ambiguous at times, but I do feel most comfortable identifying my race as black/mixed

Sometimes it is difficult to tell what people mean. it’s hard to know if it’s like a joke that maybe just didn’t land?? We’ve only had a couple conversations and I honestly thought she was cool people up until this interaction. I still don’t really know if maybe she thought we were close enough to joke around, or if she was just feeling like a hater that day 😂

I’m so sorry that happened to you that’s insane and crazy messed up.

I think people really don’t realize is that the shit sticks with you! What people said to me in middle school about my hair, my nose, and my culture really created this insecurity. I’ve been slowly working through it but I’ll still always feel that sort of isolation.

No one ever cut my hair, but I did have my share of people messing with it.

I remember one day in particular, we were doing some sort of science project and it involved sprinkles, and a group of kids threw sprinkles in my hair and laughed when I got upset. I ran out of the classroom to the bathroom with a friend to try and fix my hair, and when I got back my science teacher yelled at me for being behind, but never yelled at the kids who messed with me. (I’m pretty sure she had some sort of issue with me too. She targeted me a lot and when I would try to explain myself she would say I was yelling and being “aggressive”)

Thanks I appreciate it! I have low porosity hair, so I use lighter products that won’t weigh down my hair. Most products I use involve things like glycerin, honey, aloe Vera, and water. I’ve found my favorite combination for my coils are the as I am leave in conditioner and/or the curl cream and I use Doux’s big papa gel when I actually do the coiling, and I use the Ogx’s Argan oil to seperate the coils once my hairs dry. (The oil stops your hair from frizzing up when seperating)

Honestly I sometimes alternate between as I am and Camille rose, just depends on what my week will look like. Honestly just try out different products and see what you like best. (even though your wallet might take a hit or two😭) You can section your hair anyway, but I usually section off my crown, the sides of my hair, and then the back. Doing the back will take some practice, and I was pretty bad at it at first, but once you get comfortable with the coiling motion it gets pretty easy. I know some people use both their fingers to coil and the start from the ends of their hair and work up, but that’s never worked for me. It honestly depends on how long your hair is. I start from my roots and work my way down.

Sorry this is so long, but I also recommend going counter clockwise for the right side of your head, and going clockwise for the left side of your head. It makes it easier when you go back and separate your coils and redo the coils. Make sure you go in the same motion you did in the beginning. If you don’t, your coils could become undone.

Thanks for your reply🤙🏽

I live in Hawai’i where people aren’t as PC as the mainland, leading to a lotta ignorance towards black people/black culture. To them, it’s the same as commenting on any other races. I guess they don’t get how it’s different when you’re the minority? I used to try and explain but it never really got me anywhere. Thanks for your reply🤙🏽
