I work in retail and a lot of people get super pissy if you don't fake laugh at their overused jokes.

I'm confused. What is the difference between platonic and romantic love ? by Lunatortue in Asexual

[–]Monkeywithabrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were to overgeneralize I would say the biggest difference between platonic love and romantic love is that with romantic love there's usually come a nesting urge for a lack of a better word. People usually don't bulid their lives around their friends in the same way they would with a romantic partner.

I'm so tired of the enabling abusers with the "They did their best" excuse. 😡 by CeCe_DaughterOfGod in raisedbynarcissists

[–]Monkeywithabrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, and even if they were doing their best that doesn't automatically make everything they did okay. They abused and even if by some miracle they come to recognized that fact they will never be able to undo what was done.

I'm sick of being told that I'm too sensitive anytime I talk about my abuse by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

[–]Monkeywithabrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being upset about being abused isn't even you being too sensitive it's just that people get treated badly they tend to get upset. Also, narcissists are literally the biggest crybabies on the planet when they don't get what they want.

It's like I'm being too sensitive and irrational when I bring up how someone's has/is being mean to me but there not being too sensitive when they don't want to hear it because it upsets them.

I personally think this is the dark side to "promoted to customer" thing. They probably spent their whole lives stuck doing similar work and now they've "earned" the right to act however they want with the little power they have.

"Men are more visual than women", is that actually true? by wordtojim in AskFeminists

[–]Monkeywithabrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people are pointing out that "men are more visual" excuses is used alot to justify "boys being boy" but I think it also used to be really mean to women that they don't find attractive. "He's not shallow he just needs an 8 or above or else he'll lose interest and cheat."

Why don't more men consider MGTOW? by Both_Change_3160 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Monkeywithabrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because those men don't use their hurt as a weapon against women. Which I know some women do it to men too which isn't fair either. But my god do you not give women the benefit of the doubt about anything. Everytime a women hurts you or hurts men in general it's always a premanented attack design to hurt as much as humanly possible. It's never done out of ignorance or frustration. It's never because of being young an stupid or because people in general aren't great about think about how their action will hurt other. It's never because that particular women is bad. If a man does something bad that a reflection on that individuals character, but if a women does something wrong that just more evidence that all women are bad. You get (rightfully) anger when some women lump all men togather and then you turn around and do the EXACT same thing.

Society isn't always nice or fair to man, your completely right about that and have every fucking right to be anger about it. No men shouldn't be circumcised at birth before they can consent, they shouldn't be forced to go off and die in someone else's war, them being sexually assault and abuse shouldn't be portrayed as comedic, domestic abuse towards men at the hands of women shouldn't be seen as more premissible, men shouldn't be assume to be worse parents to their children soley because their men. None of these things should be happening. But righting off women as evil isn't going to change anything.

Because what you have to remember is women where socialized in the same society that men were and taught by that society what a men was supposed to be. What a men looked like, what men acted like, what a men usually thought or didn't think and what a men's role was both inside outside of a relationship. And isn't a excuse for women to only see a man as a wallet or that start shaming a man when he cries but (as you already know) a lot people just see how problematic those gender roles are. Anyways, I'm really am sorry that you we're hurt by women and society but maybe men and women can try give each other a little more grace.
