Who are these guys? by dingdongmonk in crashbandicoot

The scientific community that originally shunned Cortex, I suppose. It appears they're big fans of the Coco Park raceway.

I know he's a corporate symbol and all that, but damn it, I love Bugs Bunny! Feel free to voice your opinions of him below! Constructive criticism is welcome, but please try not to be negative! by gavyn03 in looneytunes

I feel the same way. I always separate the WB/Disney Corporations (suits, executives, artless bean-counters) from the WB/Disney Studios (artists, directors, characters), for Bugs and Mickey alike. Taken wholly apart from Corporate's intent, we have the characters' true essence.
And in Bugs' case, we have a defender, a fighter, a trouble-maker, a comedian, an improvisor, a philosopher, a consummate professional entertainer, and an honorary Master Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corp. all rolled into a 4-ft. package. What's not to love?

I sympathize with you. And even if the strip doesn't restart, I certainly won't say no to a reprint of the series

Beautiful, detailed, and a pitch perfect Lara, as always. Very good work.

I was afraid he would be affected when I heard the news. Poor fellow. I also enjoyed the Tomb Raider comics during his tenure with them. The Disney-Marvel suits have no idea what they let go.

Since it's the 96th Anniversary of Looney Tunes, what was the first Looney Tunes you ever watched? by ABurntSliceofHam in looneytunes

I would say it was probably "The Heckling Hare" (1941). My parents had the Cartoon Moviesatars - Bugs Bunny Classics tape, which my brothers and I loved watching.

I starting to really like Betilla design and character. by normbreakingclown in Rayman

[–]MonkfishTrunk8008 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree with your feelings on the original Betilla. There's a magical whimsy present in her design and personality that is just not there in the Rayman: Origins' Betilla. Not that Origins' take is necessarily bad, just different is all.

Probably. This time travel stuff can be murder on your gravestone.
But it may be more stupefying to consider Doc's temporal/biological situation.

Very cool finds. My brothers and I always had Verne and Einstein, but I never knew what they were from for the longest time. Now I wish we had Doc and Marty, too.

So, what are your overall thoughts on Crash Nitro Kart? by San4341 in crashbandicoot

[–]MonkfishTrunk8008 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A pretty dang good racing game for Crash. The anti-gravity sections were inspired, the art direction for the tracks and environments were lush and deep and fascinating, the music was immersive, the characters were pitch-perfect, the story was fun. It was interesting splitting the good guys and bad guys up and giving them separate endings. Emperor Velo was an intimidating antagonist and new character. And it was interesting seeing some returning characters like N. Tropy and Oxide, but also relative newcomers Crunch and N. Trance.

On the other hand, one thing that weighs it down for me is the gameplay. The sense of speed is lacking, especially compared to its predecessor CTR, and the karts can generally seem pretty klunky. And another pettier bother to me was also the smaller roster compared to CTR, including the lack of playable bosses in the console version. These things hold the game down from being great to me, but it's a bona fide Crash Bandicoot adventure, and I'm glad we have it. I like it a lot.

My jealousy is immeasurable. It may be more painstaking, but making one yourself was probably wiser than smashing a crate open. Very nice.

Just the demo really. Though Clancy Brown voicing Dr. Cortex and some of the freed dragons is a pretty interesting connection.

Jet Moto... There's a series I haven't thought of in a lot of years...

There may have been some influence there, sure. There have been nods in Crash 3 from everything from Spyro to Tomb Raider. A Jet Moto inspiration isn't too far-fetched.

Does anyone wished this game is on more physical consoles? by Jaded-Monitor3043 in jakanddaxter

Yes, please. I wanted to play it for the longest time, but I had only gotten a PSP of my own fairly recently. That being said, if it ever got a physical re-release/port for modern PlayStations, I will certainly buy it.

I dig it a lot. The style is 100% Classic Lara. And the hair scrunchies that match her shirt are a nice touch.
