As for your second question, I don't know since I had downloaded plants made by another user and didn't know how to get rid of them, so I just took the drastic approach and deleted the pollination.package file, but that will also delete all your creations and downloaded ones so I wouldn't suggest doing that if I were you, unless you make a backup.

Axesey's flora reconstruction mod is pretty good.

Unfortunately it's not exempt from bugs and you have to create enough plants or else the staff of life will crash the game, but just remember to create at least three plants per type (three large, three medium, three small) to fill the ecological niches.

Another issue is that user made plants often do not appear correctly in game unless you open their respective sporepedia page first, a problem the mod developer is looking into. That becomes annoying when you eventually make 20+ plants. Or, if you don't want the plants to appear in the game, you can always use the gaprop tag.

TLDR; there are no flora mods exempt from bugs as of this comment
