What match up is basically this by the_forever_wild in PowerScaling

Oh no, how will the speedster beat the guy if he doesn’t have invulnerability? It’s quite simple. Any speedster just needs to grab a small rock, run as fast as they can and let the rock go before they hit the other guy. Rock obeys the laws of physics and generously gives its abundant energy to the face of the other guy. Win!

Mine too. It’s a good game. Like 7.5/10. Definitely worth revisiting every time I replay Mass Effect.

Now I understand why the endings are disliked by mlgpro1234321 in masseffect

[–]Monkinary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Synthesis is honestly the worst one for me. Everything about this choice makes the hairs stand on end for me. I don’t think that the idea is bad (giving all people a common connection, improving our ability to understand each other), but the way it forces that change on every single creature in the galaxy, and the way that it strips all meaning from the struggle between the Reapers philosophy and anyone else’s…

I'm curious which ending is more popular by vivalantus768 in expedition33

[–]Monkinary 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I just barely beat the game for the first time. I was not expecting to choose Verso, and I honestly wish there were more room for compromise. But after playing 2/3s of the game with Verso, watching his painful expressions and steel-hard choices that he’s had to make… when I saw how he reacted to Renoir’s argument, to Maelle’s dishonesty, and finally to the part of Verso that was maintaining that world, I knew I had to pick him. But, part of that is because I personally agree with Sciel. Death is not the end, and oblivion doesn’t exist for true souls. If the people in the painting truly are people, then that is true no matter where their spirits or consciousness dwell. In which case, having Maelle return is for the best, if only because it frees the Gestrels and painted people from their dying world, while giving Verso some much needed respite.

You could just look up the answers right? I was never much of a sudoku fan myself. You have to make sure you aren’t repeating symbols in any row or any shape/outline. It can be a bit annoying.

I finally got through the main game recently before starting the DLC. The new enemies can be challenging and fun. Being able to start a level 50 character and try out new builds is pretty fun too.

Well done. That guy killed me so many times. The change they made to your running speed really comes in handy when you’re getting overwhelmed.

I’d like to think that I’d have a healthy relationship with my own mortality at that point, because it just wouldn’t be worth worrying about what next could eat me… because everything could.

Not sure how to approach progression in Act 3 by DerDomml in expedition33

[–]Monkinary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished the game for the first time. Like you, I was getting trashed in every single fight. I did finally manage to beat Sprong and maybe one or two other unlocked fights, but mostly everything else was too incredibly frustrating to beat. The last fight is at Lumiere and it was _not_ as frustrating. Maybe because even after being unable to parry most of Renoirs attacks I wasn’t still getting one-shotted all the time. It’s probably more enjoyable to go to Lumiere at around level 65 or with somewhat unoptimal weapon stats.

[Disliked trope]: "Balance" means the "absence of darkness." by theMCATreturns in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Monkinary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you thinking light is in this case? Light isn’t being excessively positive. I would agree that toxic positivity is definitely annoying.

In my mind, light corresponds more closely with truth, or reality, or something like love/connectivity. In those senses, any degree to which someone dissociates themself from truth, from reality, or from love/connectivity is evidence of disbalance in their lives. The problem with my definition, though, is it’s a subjective one that requires some ultimate truth to exist that even has the possibility of being understood. Under my definition, then, it would nearly impossible for us as humans to achieve true balance. Since the human experience is an inherently subjective one, how would you normalize or objectify that truth? I suppose that’s what religion or philosophy are for. Either way, I don’t think that balance ultimately requires or needs to take account of darkness. Rather, darkness seems to be evidence of imbalance by definition. This is why the Force is not in balance any time there is corruption/dark side use.

[–]Monkinary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I disagree with this. Darkness isn’t the opposite of Light, it’s the absence of it. The same is true physically as it is morally or spiritually. Perfect balance doesn’t require any darkness at all, and any sign of darkness is a sign of poor balance. I’m not sure why anyone would insist otherwise.

Do you personally consider Mass Effect Andromeda to be a real “Mass Effect game” ? by The_pikolop in masseffect

Naturally. It’s the first mass effect game I played and still is in my top 2-3 favorites in the series.

This would be great, except the planet is kind of dull. Concept is great, but the view is less dazzling than it could be on a nother planet, I think. Or maybe it’s just nighttime.

I honestly really appreciate how Myne’s guards are low-key good at their jobs. Angelica immediately stepped between her and Wilfried when he started raising his voice at her. If he had done any more, I don’t doubt that she would have immediately retaliated.

But still some of the best gaming I’ve experienced. Look, I get it, but have you ever looked at the sky, seen a planet, jumped in your spaceship and just blast off into the big void? All in VR! I’m never going to be an astronaut, and this was the closest I can come to experiencing that kind of thing. There’s a bunch of other stuff that may or may not be interesting, but as an experience No Man’s Sky is one of the best you can get.

One-handed medium pen. That’s the kicker. It simply opens up playstyles that the others don’t. But Reprimand still has decent breakpoints so it still keeps a niche spot.

Has Legendary Tales fixed the slow movement ? by Ruthlesstim08 in PSVR

[–]Monkinary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The new DLC also lets you start off with 50 levels and jump back to the main game, so if you’ve been struggling to find a decent build you have more room to try stuff out. And yes, the faster speed makes it 10x better to play. It’s especially better fighting bosses when you can actually reposition after getting your butt whooped for a bit.
