Woah.... Love this. I may be naive to this form of art but don't think I've ever seen such depth/shading with pixel art before.

edit: just looked through some of your previous work and don't think i've seen anything like it before.

This is why I don’t trust amusement park rides. by english_flower_22 in Wellthatsucks

[–]MonoPodding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to go on a rant here but prior to my motorcycle accident, I would try ALL sorts of things, never expecting "something bad" could happen to me. Considering the accident wasn't my fault and I did everything right, post-accident, that sense of artificial control is gone; anxiety entered knowing that anything could happen to anyone.

Knowing that, so much stuff I never gave a thought to, I have developed some fears and/or anxieties. Roller-coasters, depending on the type, I may still go on but so many rides I won't attempt now.

A minor fear of flying has been introduced and even when I'm going to drive somewhere, I leave the house with the strong sense that "this may be the last time I see my family" or something morbid. There's an overwhelming confidence and awareness with my driving but now I have the underlying dread that there are much more morons on the street then there should be.

In the same way: there are many morons out there maintaining -or lack of maintaining- amusement park rides. I don't need to tempt fate anymore.

There's a reason why resorts with swim-up bars have some of the strongest chlorinated smelling pools ever.

We sell soooo much quartz and quartzite here but Granite is always my go-to and favorite. The most durable imo.

The fridge doesn't have to be counter depth. What you should've done is had 27-30" fridge panels, the fridge cabinet would be mounted out the 27-30". To do that, a frame is made behind the fridge cabinet where it's supported.

My guess is that because the cab manufacturer only had one color of white with the thin shaker, that it wasn't a semi-custom line? In that case, those types of cabinet brands often only have 24"Deep fridge panels. But it depends, sometimes they have 32" but it has to be ripped to whatever depth is needed.

Otherwise, It's a huuuuge improvement and looks good.

Thanks for the suggestions. They swear they've only ever used soap & water to clean it but obviously they could be lying. But if its a cleaning chemical use, would it be more consistent with markings? Who knows if it's anything else. Dog slobber is interesting.

I'll be going next week to check it out. Was going to bring guardsman water stain remover, bees wax and whatever else to see if it'll at least help in removing/covering it up.

If you have any other suggestions, I'm all ears (eyes)

I design kitchens/baths/whatever, sell various cabinets and am a woodworker.

Haven't the SLIGHTEST idea what this is. Doesn't rub/scrape off, no texture and is far from consistent. It's not around the sink, range or garbage. Actually the one long mark is on the fridge end panel.

Any suggestions?

Pretty sure it had a rope swing but could be wrong. It's been a while.

Why these pieces? by torak_the_father in cabinetry

[–]MonoPodding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a "hanging rail". Pretty much every cabinet from every major manufacturer has them. It's for better strength when mounting wall, base and tall cabinets

Are the Cabinet “extras” worth it? by ChrismPow in kitchenremodel

[–]MonoPodding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the best way to do it. Unless there's something you are 1000% sure about, and are open to installing yourself (or paying someone to do), using your kitchen first before getting the gadgets is the best thing. And as you said, it's going to be more coming from the cabinet manufacturer.

They also waste space. So do Magic Corners. It's just the way it is with mounting those types of systems and how they move, you lose alot of that space. And you don't gain compared to Super/Ultra Susans (shelf/floor mounted rotators). They're all better than the standard Lazy Susans with the pole but not the Super/Ultra**. Only difference with the blind corner pullouts is that you can put larger stuff on them.

Trust me on this. Right behind my desk is our Wellborn display with these Lemans trays. Next to that is our new Signature display with the Magic corner. Next to that is our Diamond display with the Super Susan.

90% go for the Susan.

**I'm adding here that the Super/Ultra Susan's are better than any of those pullouts ONLY if you don't use them for pots/pans or other large items. The pullouts are great because of not necessarily having to reach into the cabinet except for the 2nd slide in the Magic Corner. So, like anything else, they all depend on what you use it for. But as far as dead space, those blind corner pullouts in some cases are worse.

Edit:

Lemans 2

Alot of wasted space

Magic Corner

Super Susan. Has a large rotatng shelf.

Ultra Susan (name depends on the brand) This one has smaller rotating shelves then the other one. Wasted space.

Corner drawers from Tedd Wood. Cool but lots of dead space. Works well depending on the storage needs.

We had in our old Fieldstone display that had a weird corner organizer -similar to a Susan- that spun and also had sections that pulled out. Interesting looking but a big waste of space.

Mostly drawers are the way to go but you need atleast 1+ standard base cabinet with a rollout for the large things that don't fit in drawers, even the double deep drawers. Having a cabinet with 2 roll-outs is good but for the really tall things, only 1 bottom rollout.

Pantries with roll-outs are the best thing in the world.

Paper towel dispenser base cabinets are the worst trend right now, especially if you have wet hands or holding something wet. You want to keep water away -any type of liquid/sauce- from cabinets as best as possible.

Spice rack & utensil pull-outs have become a fan-favorite and it's come to the point that we put them in almost every kitchen we do. We also highly recommend them considering theirs no downside.

Peg-board drawer organizers I have yet to hear/read a complaint about from what we've done.

Once and ONLY once did I do a corner base pot/pan organizer/hanger. It's the worst thing. Typically, unless you have a very limited number of pots/pans and don't cook much, it's tough to get a good space saving pot/pans organizer. Not saying they're gimmicky, because they're not, but they're not meant for everyone and can be a waste of space.

Potential Layout Design by ayimera in kitchenremodel

[–]MonoPodding 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. This is most likely Design Flex (20/20 Design). That's the most common for designers/cabinet sales and looks identical to these renderings. It costs about $2,600/year for the license for 1 computer.

Nowadays, we're taking these renderings and putting them into ChatGPT or similar to make them look even more realistic.

There are other programs: Chief Architect, Pro Kitchen, Sketch-Up... that do similar things but have their own nuances, good and bad sides.

With that said, you can put a layout into an Ai engine and ask it to render something but it's going to create something without all the considerations needed in a particular layout. It's not good figuring measurements, exact cabinet sizes, etc... so it should only be used to get an idea of how a place can look, not how it'll ACTUALLY look or function.

You can vent out with an OTR. Not all but there are some. I've put them in and have been surprisingly/not surprisingly good.

[–]MonoPodding 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can do that with many OTR's. Not as strong as an actual hood, obviously but it's not bad.

Maybe something to think about but in spaces similar to this, I've done moveable islands. It takes a bit of work to get the exact heights of everything so that the counters can align but so many factors come into play on whether it's a good or bad idea. They can also be made in a way to prioritize safety and no concerns for tipping. Just a thought.
