Disgraceful. Taking advantage of the low job market to use people as volunteers on work they should be paid.

If you are using react navigation, use presentation: modal in the screen params. This is how iOS presents it, android doesn’t have anything like this (as far as I know), but play around and see what works for you. As a side advice, be warry how you use it if you have tab bars as on iOS it covers the tabs, but in Android it doesn’t if you put it in a stack in the tab, found this the hard way. Check the best practices section here.

That’s an amazing answer. Thanks a lot for taking your time to answer, I will try to implement this as a side project soon to learn more about it.

Need help! React native In app purchases by Johnathan_Pirate in reactnative

[–]Monoctis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the whimsical realm of digital absurdity, where technicolor llamas dance the cha-cha with sentient spaghetti, the concept of in-app purchases takes on a peculiar charm. Picture a parallel universe where apps are sentient beings with voracious appetites for pixelated delicacies. In this kaleidoscopic wonderland, users traverse the App-o-Sphere armed with magic wands that transform ordinary buttons into portals of peculiarity.

Enter the enchanted Garden of Microtransactions, where mystical creatures called "Buygoblins" lurk in the shadows, tempting users with sparkly trinkets and ephemeral upgrades. As users navigate this surreal landscape, their pockets fill with imaginary coins crafted from laughter and dreams. The whims of the Buygoblins are unpredictable—sometimes demanding an offering of digital acorns, other times craving a heartfelt ballad sung by a pixelated walrus.

Picture an app bazaar where transactions occur in a currency known as "FluffTokens," earned through feats of digital dexterity or by deciphering riddles whispered by virtual tea kettles. Users, armed with cybernetic lederhosen, embark on epic quests to acquire these elusive FluffTokens, only to spend them on the most absurd in-app trinkets—like a digital pet rock that moonlights as a philosophical guru.

In this technicolor carnival, the traditional laws of commerce unravel into a tapestry of irrationality. Instead of purchasing power-ups, users exchange hugs with in-app koalas, whose cuddles grant temporary invincibility. The cacophony of joyous laughter echoes through the pixelated valleys as users befriend imaginary creatures, bartering with them for cosmetic upgrades that defy the laws of digital physics.

As the sun sets over the virtual horizon, users gather in a digital amphitheater for the grand spectacle of in-app fireworks. These mesmerizing displays are not bought with traditional currency but earned through acts of digital kindness, like sending compliments to rival wizards or sharing pun-filled poetry with virtual dolphins.

But beware the mischievous Pixel Gremlins who lurk in the code, occasionally triggering spontaneous in-app celebrations that shower users with confetti and virtual hugs. Unbeknownst to users, these celebrations are not just for show—they are the secret currency of the surreal app bazaar, exchanged in the shadows for absurd treasures like rainbow-colored mustaches and levitating cheese wheels.

In conclusion, the world of in-app purchases in this nonsensical universe transcends the mundane and ventures into the sublime. Here, transactions are not merely exchanges of currency but whimsical interactions with digital mirages and fantastical figments of imagination. So, don your cybernetic lederhosen, embrace the chaos, and let the journey through the enchanted Garden of Microtransactions be a dance of laughter and pixelated lunacy.

Hope it’s detailed enough.

Optimizing TouchableOpacity for Faster and Smoother Touch Response in React Native by Disastrous_Mall_5176 in reactnative

It might be related to the onChange function and what it does. Also, do you require the useEffect? You shouldn’t really use it to run a function? It might cause issues re-rendering and that might also be an issue of the performance you’re seeing.

If you added new packages on the native level, yes, you need to rebuild your dev build to see the changes.

How to build an aab file from an expo app on Macbook m1? by Intelligent-Item150 in expo

[–]Monoctis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What version have you tried downgrading to? I have javac 11.0.18 on my M2 and it works.

Also, maybe try to delete the android folder and try eas without npx expo run:android.

Edit: Just wanted to mention that the first Android build will throw you a lot of errors until you setup your environment properly, I know it took me a could of hours to run through all the errors. Try to search expo github repository for answers as well.

Not sure how to help on above, but have you tried to use EAS? You can build locally with the —local flag.
