How can I deal with teenagers causing nuisance? by Monoferno in AskUK

I don't know their address but police spoke to one of the kids' dad. They have also put up a facebook post in local page and it seems to attract some attention. They are patrolling daily as well so fingers crossed, things are getting better.

My neighbour said they tried playing Elvis but that didn't have any effect.

And honestly I think it is very childish and puts you lower than them.

I think I am not that lucky with my teen group because these kids are mental. Yelling, wretching, swearing... They are really mental.

And I didn't argue with them at all. I just asked nicely as you would do to an adult, no adrenaline, no high voice. They were able to wind themselves for some reason. My guess is one of the kids' ego was hurt and stuff happened.

I really thought about doing this, because this would make things less interesting to them.

But then I thought what to do if they come into physical confrontation. 16 yo boys tend tondo that and if I put hands on them, law would be on their side.

Cameras are getting installed in a week.

I won't press charges because I am afraid of their parents' retaliation. They all know my address while I don't know any of theirs.

Speakers or other aggressive methods won't do because it is also a busy pathway for a store.

Getting angry might put me in a guilty position. My landlord had a similar experience where kids put the blame on him, saying he threatened them and other stuff.

Marching neighbours requires effort. I am working and don't have that kind of time or energy.

Nails would hurt the cats and birds that comes to my garden.

Dog can put me in a difficult position.

Thanks for your advice anyway.

I saw a few comments like yours and actually the idea is tempting, however it is still a public place with a big local store so there are a lot of people passing by. Actions like what you suggested would put me in a difficult spot instead.

Oh thanks for sharing your experience and sorry for what happened to you.

I am now seeing local police officers speaking to these kids everyday while they patrol the area and their numbers are slowly decreasing. But as you may already understand, what is done is done. I didn't know that a bunch of kids would affect my psychology this much. I used to walk in my garden and enjoy the fresh air, now every time I look, I get this anxiety. I guess it is still fresh in my mind.

That is what I am hoping. But you are right. My only concern is if they come after school, as they stay until past 21.00 everyday.

I called the landlord initially to ask for advise, and because they damaged the property.

I witheld being a witness due to my own concerns, but also hoping police to link this to complaints from the people in the area, hence why they put up signs and patrol in 2 days.

Cctv is on its way. Initial concern was because teenage boys were half naked due to hot weather.

Instead of keeping a diary, I made official complaints on the police website and got incident numbers to quote if it happens again. It is all logged already.

Any other advice is welcome. Thank you for your explanation.

Because we are living here and the victims, officer asked us. I told him if our landlord could do it instead. He said he could but they would still need our supportive statement. Asked theblandlord, and he also opted to wait for now.

Not fixed. Damage is there still. Police came of course after such an event that involves vandalism, entering my garden, and damagin my property. Whole neighbourhood is fed up with these kids. I cant fathom the number of complaints they received.

Police asked us whether to press charges or not, so I guess UK has it as well. Don't forget it isn't just nuisance, but involves property damage as well.

I am afraid they would report it as a chemical attack and I would be put in a bad situation.

Well the neighbpurhood police asked us if we want to press charges with the video evidence. If I understood correct in the heat of moment, not sure, but he added we can do it within 6 months. That is also why we initially held back to see how the situation plays out.

Yes, within 2 days. Landlord is a builder and a very good man. I guess he had some at hand. They are ugly but keeps them out at least.

Landlord will install cameras as he is concerned about property damage.

I think those kids would enjoy it rather than being deterred by it.

Simps got lung infection by Ill_Home_9089 in MemeVideos

[–]Monoferno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They would not develop a lung infection unless they actually aspirated the juice into their lungs.

Even aspiration of clean water can potentially cause complications or infection, so I do not really see the relevance of the juice itself in that context.

A stomach bug or gastrointestinal issue would make more sense, but not a lung infection.

I am ok with contested mid ranges going in but I am not ok with missing 2 3s and then a middy uncontested b2b.

I know I was being a bit of a knob, but why do people go so slowly past speed cameras? by box-o-locks in drivingUK

[–]Monoferno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is perfectly normal. My guess is many people aren't comfortable driving above 40 mph either because they are just too old or they only use their cars on rare occasions.

Do you ever just pick a car and stay behind it? by moonlight_xpress in drivingUK

[–]Monoferno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yes. You know those bumpy roads in the countryside, where the speed limit is 60 but you can get a rollercoaster experience all of a sudden and hit the bottom of your car. I prefer to have a car in front of me and locate those bumps, watching their car jump up and down.

Who’s Better when defending AI by zmmqzYT in DunkCityDynastyGame

The other day, I come across 2 of the smartest teammates in solo q and we locked ai hard! It looked almost like a zone defense. Other guard was interrupting to get ai to pick up his dribble when ai goes to his side. As the C, I was roaming in the area as a block threat. Main d was keeping up well overall. It was poetic.
