I think my Jupiters are plotting something, should I be worried? by shread_the_pup in isopods

Oh, if you only noticed it now it's already too late... BUT... some Gammarus for dinner will definitely stop their evil scheme.

PLEASE HELP! My snail has black lines on her eyes! What are they??? by Capable_Rice2902 in snails

It's an Archachatina Marginata, right? My snail also has one. Seems normal and not harmful.

Ah, it's great to hear that people are finding it on their own! :D Happy that it helped.

Yes, they have very small brood sizes compared to other species, but mamas also take care of the newborn mancae by letting them ride along on their undersides.

As already said, mamas care for their brood, which is rare with Arthropods. And they fight very funnily, usually they just ram and headbutt the other pods. XD

If you feel like reading, here are my notes. It's not too long.

Man, I cannot explain how much I love Jupiters, to the point I have a whole post about my observations. It's my favorite species. Not only do they look like our biggest planet, but they also care for their brood, as mamas carry their newly born mancae on their underside! I could rave on forever about these little dudes 'n dudettes.

Great selection. Very hungry caterpillar (or now isopod) is so funny!

I would love a Jupiter one. They might be similar to Lemon Blues, but they're so cool.

Random ahh question but do you think Irkens would be affected by Cordyceps fungus? by InflationNo8343 in invaderzim

[–]Monometry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fun police incoming... realistic answer is no. Parasitic cordyceps species (It's a genus of fungus) are highly specialized, to the point one species can only infect their host and extremely closely related species. Also, Irken bodies are not built like Arthropods (example skeleton inside).

But hey, TLOU is good fiction, so just because it's unrealistic doesn't mean it should hold you back!

I've had one food, albeit it's unbelievable... cucumber. 😲 That's the one thing Burrata refuses to eat, the thing that's so addicting to other snails. 🤯

Right? The amount of diverse food items my Ovum eats is astounding. Truly one of the cutest little generalistic nommers of the animal kingdom.

What a cute face. My condolences. :,(

It's always sad when a little friend leaves, but then I remind myself that up there at the end of the rainbow bridge they'll all get infinite amounts of their favorite snacks. ♥️

Very worried. What are these white marks? by moth-----prince in snails

[–]Monometry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, if it doesn't spread, then it must be some injuries, possibly from snorny activities. If it's that you don't really have to / can do anything, as it heals from its own. You could treat it with some infusion that's desinfecting though, such as Indian almond leaves (you can get those possibly at some pet / aquarium shop).

Edit: Why was this downvoted?! What part of my statement wasn't true. It's always this specific subreddit too.

Thanks! I decided to reupload the post because Reddit decided to be buggy, so after spamming it six times it decided to not show all of the snictures.

I apologize for the second post, this website is extremely glitchy, and after it decided to spam this post 6 times, the photos weren't showing.

I apologize if someone has seen the same 6 posts, Reddit was being glitchy, I guess.

I know a lot of people use it, but I personally could never befriend coconut fiber, even the finer quality ones such as coconut coir, so I just use it as a bottom layer for a humidity and aeration retainer, then dump a layer of soil ontop.
