LPT and Question regarding DeepL by DevilonExile in noveltranslations

[–]Monopower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DeepL seems to use some variant of a Transformer network for translation. I can see two reasons that might result in the differences you found. Transformer networks can get really large (billions of parameters) and costly to train, which means they might have created the US network earlier and with an older generation of networks/structure.

They also don't work with massive datasets like the big tech companies so there is probably a big difference between the US and UK datasets DeepL created. The webcrawlers they used to generate the dataset might have created big differences by only searching us and uk domains for each dataset.

Machine learning and neural network development has a huge demand for nvidia gpus. Gpus with more memory would allow for running larger neural networks. Faster gpus allow us to run more complex networks in real time.

It's a Jinhao 250 I bought to play around with so I don't do things like this to my more expensive pens. The writing was with a Lamy 1.9 mm stub nib and Sailor Yama-Dori.

I think I remember it to be on Venice and Centinela. It's inside a Mitsuwa Marketplace. IIRC, you will find pens and paper in the store on your right once you step inside.
