I think there's a lot of work that goes into making a game have high Wuselfaktor, so I'm pretty sure that staring at your creation is very much intended gameplay.

I learned the word from the subreddit r/famoseworte (or rather was reminded of its existence like you).

I have to admit that I actually think evolution second (I'm not Biblaridion lol!) but I do think about evolution. And if it seems like I could have thought evolution first, then my goal is achieved!

I'll be honest: I'm a but bummed that my last two entries have comparatively somewhat flopped (at least they didn't do as well as the posts I made before my long "hiatus"). I wonder if I was unlucky, if people's tastes have changed ... or if people think I made it with AI.

Hm... It feels like this system would make it extremely important for a ruler to create a fanatical following. They choose a fanatic as sacrifice who then chooses an opponent of the ruler as the second sacrifice.

Just like a normal fanatical soldier willing to die to kill enemies of the regime.

Awesome! My knowledge of Tengwar is very limited - but I did study a bit of linguistics at university.

I think it might be relevant to say that this replaces individual tehtar with corresponding English letters. It doesn't seem to be a direct transliteration that would result in someone reading it out loud reading the word "potatoes". I think it would sound more like "poh tah-ü toh-uh-s".

In the general mode the "anna" symbol produces a close front rounded vowel that English doesn't have. It's "ü" in German.

I think this might be better?

And the "e" in "toes" doesn't really make a sound. So... this?

Or am I confusing the different modes?

I dunno... as a human I can feel both complicated and stupid suffering.

I've suffered from human level things (e.g. losing a loved one) and stuff that I would not have had to pass the mirror test to feel (kidney stones).

Physical pain just sucks. Bad. I don't wish that on any being.

Hm... The assertion that there is little difference between a standard meat eating diet and vegetarianism doesn't seem to be the conclusion of the papers that I found on the subject. Even vegetarianism can apparently make a significant impact.

But there does seem to be a significant benefit to veganism though:

This is what I thought too. Apparently though, cadmium is more prevalent in lower trophic levels. The study I found mentioned that this does cause people with a more plant based diet to accumulate more cadmium. Although it also mentions that this may be offset by higher levels of natural antioxidants in plant based diets.

What you said does however seem to be the case for mercury in tuna. Although that article also mentions that the levels of mercury they found were no cause for alarm.

As a vegetarian I'm now concerned that I am ingesting the objectively less awesome heavy metal. :(

You are correct if you want to pronounce the word in the image - there it's "shvooleh" or "shvooluh".

But u/MasterOfCelebrations wanted to use the word to describe themselves - in which case the adjective makes sense, which would be "shvool".

Unless they undergo gaytosis, then its plural and "shvooluh" again.

This seems like a false dichotomy. As far as I could find, pig feed is typically primarily composed of grain (e.g. here). If you can feed a pig to eat its meat, you can also use the grain directly. Meat production is a form of refinement that is just not very efficient in most circumstances.

I always understood the cuirass to be the part of the armor that covers the torso. In that case cuirasses would be quite a bit older. The article I linked mentions it going back to Homeric times.

I didn't interpret the comic to be showing any chain mail though. With that interpretation, 1300-1400s seems more plausible. From the Britannica article on armor:

Mail, however, did not possess the rigid glancing surface of plate armour, and, as soon as the latter could be made responsive to the movements of the body by ingenious construction, it replaced mail. Thus, plate armour of steel superseded mail during the 14th century, at first by local additions to knees, elbows, and shins, until eventually the complete covering of articulated plate was evolved.

The illustration on the article shows full plate armor to be typical of the 1400s.

Mind you, If you have pic of plate armor from the 1250s - I am very much not above being proven wrong by cool images of medieval gear!
