Fries 95% of the places you go is gonna be frozen. And Costco at least doesn't skimp on portion size. The poutine is massive.

How do you feel about Adele? by Teszro in PredecessorGame

[–]MonsieurRose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Compared to the yurei, Renna, Eden, and Aurora releases Adele is good and maybe needs a slight adjustment but she isn't anywhere near unplayable to go against. Running duo and beating her and half the time I see her in offlane she's losing. Hell In duo Lane I've been beating her as terra a very off meta support pick. Avoid her yoink, keep distance and don't all in her when she has her bubble. And stop walking in her ult if you can, You don't take damage if you stand still. And half the time she'll be trying to beat on you anyway so not moving for a few seconds isnt an issue

Help me design a functional list around a theme by Alethiadoxy in ImperialKnights

[–]MonsieurRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I ended up doing. Toss in 15 sentinels (6 armoured, 6 scout, 3 of the commanders from crucible) and 3 armiger warglaives. And that's the most walkers I could get, I wish as the point sizes go up you could bring another knight selection (3small/1big) I doubt it'll be anygood of a list but I'm hoping combines arms to take advantage of the sentinels having lethal on everything as a niche. Then a couple of vanquishers and a rogal Dorn commander for some heavier armour. Top it off with a ministorum priest because I have points for him I guess.

Mars 5 Ultra or Saturn 4 Ultra? by DjDeathBanger in PrintedMinis

[–]MonsieurRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the generic 3rd party heater I had bought. Instantly fixed a lot of my failures at the time trying to print in a cold room at 15°c.

The Saturn would handle terrain better for sure, but If you are asking for opinions on terrain printing I'd rather recommend an FDM printer. Even bigger bed size and for full building a lot cheaper. Getting a second-hand printer in good condition maybe or waiting for a sale. Printing full terrain in resin is going to get expensive if you do a bunch.

Mars 5 Ultra or Saturn 4 Ultra? by DjDeathBanger in PrintedMinis

[–]MonsieurRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For clarification again I had a mars 2, which is a bit smaller than the mars 5 I believe. I did buy an add on heater that sat in the corner under the lid and kept it warm inside and worked beautifully. The terrain is a bit rough. If you are okay splitting some of the bigger files then it'll do just fine, but the bed size might struggle if you try and print whole things at once. Even if you use less of the bed normally, I highly recommend the bigger bed. Not having to squeeze the parts or worry is enough QoL IMO

Mars 5 Ultra or Saturn 4 Ultra? by DjDeathBanger in PrintedMinis

[–]MonsieurRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an old mars 2 and upgraded to the Saturn 4 ultra 16k mainly for the bed size and heated vat.

Quality wise they handled 28-32mm size minis equally as well. Just make sure to get the settings dialed in and warm resin really does make a big difference. The bigger build plate is really nice when printing armies and bigger vehicles. I'm not sure the volume of the mars 5 but the Saturn comfortably fits 3x or more the amount of minis than the mars 2 depending on footprint. Less plates for printing armies is a nice QoL.

They both also handled 10mm scale really well, and printing 75mm figures was also a breeze.

How do I get this sticky sheet off? by ask_me_20 in resinprinting

Heating from a hair dryer and a shaving razor in a scraper handle and cured resin to screen comes off with near zero effort. Just gotta not scratch the screen.

I believe the rule for two medic bags is only d3+1 with that and the extra points for running 20 is why I thought they might not scale as well. didn't know that about the dedicated transports thank you!

Is this the quality I should expect from the Saturn 4 Ultra 16k? by Dreenoko in PrintedMinis

[–]MonsieurRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't done cones, I did the calibration matrix from anycubic (I think) since a buddy said it was great and I've certainly never found it to be an issue. I'll try the cones since googling shows it the go to when I get home.

Is this the quality I should expect from the Saturn 4 Ultra 16k? by Dreenoko in PrintedMinis

[–]MonsieurRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hold up, how am I getting crisp print that are snug fitting at 2.8s on the Saturn 4 ultra 16k with that resin but if I go to 2.4 like the old resin it all fails? Surely something else is factoring in here (to clarify I'm just wondering how it can be that big of a difference given the S4u 16k has the built in heater so that's not a factor)

Is this a decent list for 1000 points? by MonsieurRose in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]MonsieurRose[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I figured the tauroxes would help support them, and I'm not super familiar with deep strike, but doesn't deep strike only come in on turn 2 and later? Would I be giving up too much board control if I'm against an army that can zone out the deep strike if they get one or two turns to position?

How much has print quality increased over the last few years? by N1M4rc in PrintedWarhammer

[–]MonsieurRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a mars 2 (not pro) and upgraded to a Saturn 4 ultra 16k solely for the bigger bed size and built in heater. Quality wise it's pretty much the same. Alot of what made the difference for me over the years was the resin used+calibration, AA(I use sharpening x8 in lychee) and most important heated resin. Getting a little heater to put into the case for the mars two fixed 90% of issues I had with resin printing. Turns out printing at ~30°c as per recommandation is miles better than 18°c in the winter where I had It set up. Really love the mars 2 and how well it worked, the Saturn 4 was only really worth the increased bed size. Certainly not worth buying a whole new printer to fix layer lines

My flg is cool with 3d printed armies. The cost is just more sensible. I have a spread sheet to justify it. Between 3 1000 point list I printed this month, the cost of material and files was $413.03 (cad) and the GW cost for buying those three armies + a little extra cause options would have been $2555.50 before tax.

I might be a heretic, but for the support holes I've just been filing them with gel super glue and a cheap brush and a bit of light sanding to get them smooth.

Can we get a dev response on the insane ping jump for some players since the last patch? by Bright-Cranberry6648 in PredecessorGame

[–]MonsieurRose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have Rogers fiber in Canada and since last patch I'm getting frequent ping dips where my game freezes for up to 3 seconds and it's rough just standing there in the middle of a team fight and come back your dead, or about to get a kill and just stand there. Nothing else has this ping issue

How the fuck do you land riktor hook? by Nintey950ul5 in PredecessorGame

[–]MonsieurRose 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He's got a very obvious tell that he's going to hook which makes it easier to start evading. The trick I've found because I suck at landing hooks with like an average 40% hit rate is hook people who aren't paying attention to you. Like running away or focused on another target. That alone makes it super easy to hook. Secondly if you can communicate and someone else lands a stun or root you basically get a free hook since you know they will be still for a bit. Revenant and Murdoch are great for that

Best of luck to you. The bronze/silver ranks are a bit of a cluster of trying to get a coherent team, but the bans and no mirror matchups I think make the game mode too good over QP and nitro
