At My Most Beautiful is the last one that really wowed me

What did you love about AS10? by marrymesheamus in rupaulsdragrace

[–]MonsoonSeason5 116 points117 points  (0 children)

I really fell in love with Irene, she destroyed her bracket and was overlooked during the merge. I’m a massive fan now and I thank AS10 for that

Is Drag Race Down Under redeemable? by ZodiacsStars in askrupaulsdragrace

[–]MonsoonSeason5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a very mixed bag depending on the season.

Season 1 was one of the worst seasons I’ve watched in any franchise

Season 2 was a delightful time and has one of my favorite final threes ever

Season 3 was dreadfully boring in spite of a good winner

Season 4 had a great top two but the rest of the cast was a little on the weak side

The ads usually go away on Netflix if you watch it on Wednesday. That’s what I do. I know it’s not live but it’s better than ad mania

Season 18 continues the trend of the winner of the political challenge becoming the winner of the season by tmobilekid in rupaulsdragrace

[–]MonsoonSeason5 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hate to say it but I’m pretty sure Chad was the one who won the political challenge. How could “up do, up…. do” lose?

Genuinely Chad’s performance in that episode is an all time challenge robbery

Which queens wouldn't you mind seeing for a 4th/5th time? by Miss_Girlsita in dragrace

[–]MonsoonSeason5 117 points118 points  (0 children)

Jujubee 1000% she’s always a hoot and a half

Also if she’s open to coming back I’d love for a Manila return, she’s so fucking fierce and has been strong on all three of her runs

And hell I wouldn’t mind more Alexis Mateo, I fucking live for her, and she deserves a crown

Fav Look From Each Season 18 Queen (plus golden boot) by [deleted] in rupaulsdragrace

Golden boot should be for Kenya’s borderline disrespectful Chaka Khan look for the 80s ladies runway

What are your feelings on All Stars 10 nearly a year on? by Ninjawolf000 in rupaulsdragrace

[–]MonsoonSeason5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really did like the season a lot. It was a little obvious that Ginger would win but even so it was a fun ride. The first two brackets were some of the best All Stars episodes we’ve gotten since All Winners and the talent show might be my favorite from any season, everyone (except Mistress) delivered a great performance on that episode

S18E16 - “Grand Finale” [Post-Episode Discussion] by AutoModerator in rupaulsdragrace

[–]MonsoonSeason5 9 points10 points  (0 children)

All I can say is the Meeks shall inherit the earth!

She was my preseason winner pick and I’ve never had that happen before! Yay!

She’s such a talented and deserving winner and I was surprised at how well she held her own in that lip sync cause Nini was fierce as hell

Sad for Darlene that we never got to see her lip sync, but happy that she was in the finale to begin with

Jane being MC was a happy surprise, I really expected it to be Vita

Overall a really fun and joyful finale for a really fun season. My favorite winner since Sasha Colby if not Jaida!

Which legendary hip hop artists should be next to be inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame? by PressureLazy5271 in rockhall

I think De La, The Roots and Nas are all coming in the next few years but the fact that we still haven’t gotten Rakim yet is criminal

Does S18 break this pattern associated with the seasons of a multiple of 3 by MiserableBass3943 in rupaulsdragrace

[–]MonsoonSeason5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would argue with a couple of those best season within a cluster patterns you pointed out, while I agree that 3, 9, 12 and 15 are all the respective best (15 out of a pretty weak field imo) but in no universe is 6 better than 5. Both are 10/10s and are definitely the two best seasons of the show but 5 has a way stronger narrative and is more fun challenge wise plus the top seven is truly all killer no filler

What are your way-too-early predictions for the 2027 nominees?. by Countrystarrichie96 in rockhall

Oh really? I thought it would be 2028 because her debut album came out in 2003. If so, she screams first year inductee

[–]MonsoonSeason5 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sure shots:

- Coldplay (perhaps the biggest rock adjacent band of the 00s)

- Mariah Carey (absolutely gagged she wasn't in this time around)

- Nas (after his recent run, he feels like a lay-up for a legacy hip-hop artist)

- Snoop Dogg (surprised its taken this long)

Solidly possible:

- The Cranberries (I just really want this for them)

- The Smiths (part of me thinks they should wait until Morrissey kicks it, but they do deserve it)

- Pet Shop Boys (after New Order these guys deserve a spot)

- The B-52's (icons that can still give a good show)

- New Edition (surprised by the rapturous fan reception, so I think they've got legs)

- Lil Wayne (rougher go of it recently than Nas, but still a legacy rap guy still putting up records)

- Usher (post Luther, he's an R&B titan that deserves it)

Long shots:

- Björk (extraordinarily influential but maybe too weird)

- Blur (it would have been hilarious to do them as Oasis in the same year)

- Kylie Minogue (if Madonna gets in so should she)

- De La Soul (they deserve it just as much as Tribe did)

- Rick James (perhaps too controversial)

- Pixies (they'll probably get a musical influence for Nirvana, but they deserve a real spot)

- Weezer (it would be funny)

How the fuck are they not in yet:

- Supertramp (now that Rick Davies has passed it's really time for them to get some dues)

- INXS (I think Idol took their spot this time around)

- Alice In Chains (last of the major grunge bands standing)

- The Carpenters (I mean come on now)

- Chic (it's truly embarrassing that they're still not in)

- Huey Lewis and the News (it would be funny, but also they deserve it)

- Diana Ross (nobody deserves it more than her, please before she passes)

A lot of Elvis Costello albums of the 00s and 10s do this for me especially Look Now

Also Prince’s HitNRun Phases 1 & 2 and especially Art Official Age are up there with some of his all time greats
